The opposite of hospitals then where NHS staff were correctly protected from their patients.
PPE or lack of it has been responsible for many infections.
I spoke today to my daughter who is senior midwife and she could have sent her kids to school as a key worker but chose not to as her husband manages to work from home. She said it was still the same risk to her kids.
She said she could not understand people who no longer were allowed to work not taking their parents out of the carehome risk area at least for the time being.
My wife works in a local authority care home. My daughter works in a private care home. Neither have experienced any PPE issues. Another unfortunate fact is that poorly run care homes haven't just disappeared over night.
My daughters place hasn't had a case, so far. It's in my wife's place with a vengeance. Only one member of staff has tested positive and that was over a fortnight after the first residents positive test. Sadly they've lost seven people with more likely to come.
On a positive note she's told that at least three appear have shown mild symptoms and are around ten days in. Hopefully they'll recover fully.
With regards to removing residents to re home them there just isn't a one size fits all option and many are in there through own choice.

Where’s the fcukin regulator? Probably holding BBQs and touring the Goyt valley working from home.

Wouldn’t that be a little inconvenient?

Having said that, it might reduce the number of people with time to cycle in the Goyt valley.
Well yes that point of view exists but frankly it can work both ways.
When I lived in Yorkshire my mum who lived with us suffered a stroke. The doctor asked if ireally wanted her to go to hospital. I said of course my mum deserves the best help she can get. She fell twice off the stretcher in A and E sustaining cuts to both arms. A follow up visit a few days found her recovering in a seperate isolation room with MRSA notices on its door. The consultant then told me she would not be.resuscitated if she suffered any life threatening event and she duly died there.
I regret allowing my mum to be taken to hospital if care for older vulnerable people is as typically poor as that.
I have no experience of carehomes but would it be any better?

That’s really sad, mate. Horrible.

For clarity, I was actually referring to those people who shuffle parents off to old folks homes for reasons of personal convenience.

MRSA was a fucker. It took my father at 60. All sorts of bullshit on his death certificate with no mention of MRSA.

Finally an interesting graph made up of Tie fighters. As a current smoker my T fighter is on the right side of the graph. Just booked for a sex change next week just to make sure I’m fully covered though.
