Unfortunately other Scottish data less good.

767 in hospital. A rise of 68. And 11 in icu a rise of 4.

Many of these are not confirmed Covid cases. Just suspected.

For comparison this time last week it was 1 death and 8 new cases and 17 in icu.

It seems to be that once per week these figures take a jump. Probably to include every suspected case no matter how minimal these suspicions are.

Agreed and numbers likely tend to do this more on Monday/Tuesday as some people are likely to show up after the weekend rather than during it if they are only moderately sick.

Wales first minister announces 529 patients in hospital with Covid - a 60% decrease on the peak in April.

Of these only 12 are in ICU. The lowest since the start in March.

That is under 5% capacity in use for Covid patients and over 50% capacity entirely vacant.

Difficult to say with Scottish hospital cases, they seem to get these sporadic big jumps in suspected, even though new confirmed are very low, then they drop very quickly. Not sure if they are sending every suspected case to hospital while they await test results, just to keep them out of circulation. I know my duaghters hosptal in Edinburgh has no positive cases and hasn't for over a week now.

England hospital deaths 42 and 4 were from yesterday 7 of the 42 from the NW.

Last Wednesday there were 50 deaths with only 2 the day before and 12 of the 50 from the NW.

Add ons are not as yet seriously concerning.

12 added to 6 July to total 18 after two days.

6 added to 5 July to total 18 after 3 days.

4 added to 4 July to total 19 after 4 days

3 added to 3 July to make its 5 day total 16. So two of the latest 3 totals from 5 or more days now still below 20.

Nothing but single number add ons to previous days right back into April to top up the total to 42.

Yesterday and todays confirmed Scottish hospital figures
376 were in hospital last night: 3 of whom were in intensive care
358 were in hospital last night: 3 of whom were in intensive care;

So that is 47 hospital deaths without N Ireland (rarely anything but 0 or 1)

Last week the UK hospital total was 57. (we do now seem to be consistently sub 50 a day).

Cases were then 41 outside England + 788 in England total 829.

Running new cases total this week from Wales and Scotland is 20.

The all settings deaths last Wednesday became 176.
