No win for the Government

any slight restrictions imposed on people and everyone goes mad, any loosening of restrictions and people go mad.

It's not being restricted or having restrictions loosened that is annoying the majority.
It is the fact these clowns cannot articulate their intentions and leave everyone confused or unclear.

No. Only people from the same household or support bubble (so a person living in their own can
have a bubble with one other household) can meet in pubs and restaurants.

But all this is SO much easier to follow if you just stick to staying at home as much as you can anyway, they’re the guidelines that are still in place even before this new Greater Manchester enforcement.

The whole country should be following this:
Stay alert
We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you must:

  • stay at home as much as possible
  • work from home if you can
  • limit contact with other people
  • keep your distance from people not in your household (2 metres apart where possible)
  • wash your hands regularly
Do not leave home if you or anyone in your household has symptoms.

And because people haven’t been staying at home as much as possible, visiting multiple homes or multiple homes have been meeting together in one home... we now have stricter restrictions in our area.

To the whole nation; STAY AT HOME AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

It’s very very simple!

If you’re thinking about doing anything at all, first, think; will this increase the risk of spreading the virus?.. if the answer is yes, then don’t bother and just stay at home!

That in isolation sounds simple enough but it's accompanied by the PM making statements telling people to return to work even if they can work from home. We've had a highly publicised scheme encouraging people to eat out. The PM said we'll probably be all ok by Xmas and it creates a perception that people can drop their guard.

Ultimately, this is still disproportionately affecting people (unsurprisingly) who are more likely to work on the frontline of the pandemic. Instead of tackling that and doing more to ensure workplaces are as safe as possible, the government are shifting blame onto people again.

It’s not about the restrictions, it’s that we don’t know what we’re being asked to do.

Hancock has just said don’t meet other households indoors and has dropped the mic and walked off.

Does that mean work? Supermarkets? pubs and restaurants? or just at their house?

Does it include gardens?

It’s absolutely pitiful guidance.

Yup, same with the first lockdown as well tbf, just dropped it the night before and didn't offer any backup as to what it meant. I only found out I was still going to work the next day because the fucking Sun online had more information than the actual government as what "essential business" meant.

They are giving the bullet points (which is fine) but then not bothering to release the full document essentially, so no one has any idea what the details behind massive sweeping statements are. It's either intentionally unhelpful or staggeringly incompetent communication

Should I even bother getting up.

Was off today and going to vist my parents then a few pints with mates while the suns out.

Now I know I cannot do the first but cans till go the pub and wave at friends from the other side of the beer garden, may as well stay home

Talk of a local.loxkdown coming in Sandwell.

With pubs & restaurants seemingly still able to stay open are the Government saying this is a particular issue in the Asian community without actually coming out and saying that explicitly?
I reckon so and I know for a fact a similar situation is happening within the Jewish community with large gatherings and people thinking the rules don't apply to them. Probably not to the same extent as the Asian community but it's happening all the same

Bang on the money.

Absolute shit show from this government. Again, it seems as though they're purposely trying to make instructions confusing so they can blame the general public. That said, it could just be they want to tone down EID celebrations but can't for some reason just come out to say this.

I have an antibody test to do tomorrow. Can't do it today as I'm on the scotch.

Random selection apparently. If it shows antibodies what does that mean?
Are you seriously asking what it means to be showing antibodies? What do you think it means?

I think that’s right areas in gtr Manchester with large Asian populations are seeing increases , I think the politically correct thing to do is lockdown the whole of gtr manchester for a short time get through tonights celebrations and hopefully will be lifted soon.

Targeted shutdowns to the actual areas affected at this time in this background probably wouldnt go down well.
