Not many confirmed cases in Portugal or U.K. it seems.

Nah, there's the Alps and stuff between us and Switzerland. Zurich is also closer to Germany than Italy. You should be more worried about getting fleeced, with the prices they have over there.

Only flying there bud, skiing in Serfaus in Austria.

Mirth and humour prevail. If you fit and dont have hypertension, cancer, carduo issues, diabetes, respiratory issues etc please jest. An antivirus may be on the way but a japanese doctor told me that their gov is working on a virus but will not share info bcos the anti virus is worth billions. Hope your not old with any of the above conditions. Chances are....dont renew your season ticket. This virus kills

Hope you have a good time, the only time I went skiing I managed to bowl over one of my mates but it was plenty fun.

Thanks mate, skiing is the best imo.

Looking forward to a week of skiing and boozing and hopefully a bar to watch City win on Sunday!

Do I have enough time to listen to a Lep Zep LP.

Industry being forced to close down in northern Italy. Could create some market shortages but has to be done, shows how seriously the Italian government are taking this with the quarrentine.

Can see this being declared a pandemic by the weekend. At least China's figures are stabilising, in terms of being a steady replicating ratio, hope it's declining soon enough.

I guess if it hits a school everyone is well with me truly fecked.

What's the fatality rate?
Around 2% if I'm not mistaken. The percentage by itself doesn't mean a lot of course, there are certain categories more at risk (elders, people with severe health problems) and can also depend on the quality and swiftness of medical care.

I'm gonna try and ignore most of this post and just say that viruses make a pretty shit weapon, because you can't control them. So unless you're thinking of Bond villain-like plans, I fail to see how this could benefit China.

And China has been known to be likely to birth new strands of viruses because it's the meeting point of a lot of migratory bird routes and it has large bodies of stagnant water + intensive farms of pigs and poultry, not to mention the hygiene/health danger awareness among the lowest classes isn't always great.

Agree that hygiene conditions are conducive to creating some sort of health risk - wouldn't surprise me if CJD/Mad Cow was rampant in the pig farms

Chinese have tried to pin this on bats, pangolins, animal markets etc but they have now come out and said that it is nothing to do with the food /animal market -

Now seems the virus has been created in a laboratory. I'd guess a lab technician has been infected and it has spread from there.

That's still pretty high considering the infection rate seems very high too. Anyway, I'm hoping its all scare mongering. I'm sure the ebola thread was panicking just as much

Without your source you are just posting pathetic bollocks.

We don’t know the infection rate.
We only know the rate of infection SERIOUS ENOUGH TO BE REPORTED.
There may be many more so mild it isn’t reported, or not.
