Of the 44 new confirmed cases in Scotland today

33 in the 20-64 age range
1 in 65-74, nobody older
All other 10 infections in younger age groups including 1 in the 0-4 range.

I realise not too many Scottish viewers will read these btw, but I post them incase and in all likelihood the rest of the UK will show a similar pattern and spread so gives an idea of what's maybe happening in other areas.

I am glad to see an improvement in the Scottish figures. Us Campbells did a lot more damage up there.

Btw we finally have had some testing figures for England (none updated since 20 Aug).

Sadly the ones today only go up to 12 Aug!

Next week we are promised they will publish them up the 19 Aug.

So for the week just ended it will be September before we see them.

Not like this data matters much is it.
Its staggering how they get worse at this stuff not better. Mind you, they outsourced the mobile testing, from the Army to G4S at the start of August, so we shouldn’t be surprised...

it is unethical to infect someone with a disease t here is no cure for,it would take a brave man to give the ok to overturn that,it would be madness,we are making good progress as it is

If they didn’t want to be or know about it, for sure. If they did want to, and knew the risks, but did so because they felt it would save more lives in the long run, I think it’s more nuanced.

Because of the measures we have in place,it has got harder forit to go from person to person,it is not weaker
Per percentage of people of those getting it, less are dying or ending up in hospital.

It’s either the viral load or it’s weaker but it’s less dangerous right now.

less are dying because we know how to get ahead of the multi organs it goes for,we were fire fighting and learning from scratch at the start, less are dying in care homes etc,i havent read anyone credible say it is weaker

There’s loads saying it’s actually weaker and loads saying it’s the viral load, regardless it’s less dangerous now.

The more I’ve read from the scientific community the more arguments against each other I see.

What we do know is that even though infections are going up, hospital numbers and deaths haven’t followed suit.

It isn’t just deaths, if you test positive now you’re less likely to end up in hospital than 6 months ago.

Probably more to do with who are catching it, as it’s mostly the under 65’s. Let them catch it and stay away from the vulnerable and you’ve a great chance of some sort of herd immunity.

That’s certainly factoring into it and many are saying it’s actually likely a number of reasons, not just one factor as to why.

The difference in those going to hospital compared to April is too high to just be demographics of transmissions though.

There's a story this morning that at least 1/8 of those that caught it, caught it in the hospital where they were treated at. So at the time being in hospital wasn't the best place to be.
