Definitely on the up in Warrington. We have gone from very low numbers per 100,000 (2 or so per week recently) to 33 with 69 cases this week, a jump of 53 from last week.

Clearly things starting to kick off again.

At least London has had good news (at least for the time being).

Shows the problem of week old data. It is partly why the Bolton spike was missed for a few days by politicians outside the local area if you only do that.

Looks true based on that data but....

IN the week since those figures ended both patients in hospital and those in ICU have risen in London.

And they have had a run of days with record high numbers of new cases.

They are not in the same league as the North West - yet - but they are edging up not down.

Thanks. It was only good for that time like you say. I hadn’t realised that London’s figures had become so grim.

Whwt happens next is going to come down to people’s behaviour and whether they are willing to hack living with restrictions IMHO.

Based on the one o'clock news on the BBC the government are starting to crank up to the seriousness of the situation at last. I expect a press conference will be back soon. Though 'soon' these days in government may be at some point before the apocalypse.

Here in Melbourne we have had a curfew for a number of weeks from 8pm to 5.00am and that allows the individual 1 hour of " freedom " so long as you don't traverse more than 5km from your home to shop but you can't visit anybody other than your intimate partner if he/she resides elsewhere.

The reason is to give police a break from their door knocking of covid positive homes during the day to confirm that they are still at home (LOL).

We have 1800 active cases in a population of 5.5m with 90 per cent of the 650 odd deaths to date in nursing homes or residents transferred to hospital with co- morbidities.

Our economy has been trashed in 7 months , 10's of thousands of businesses gone to the wall never to reopen , over 1 million living on welfare , suicides and premature deaths from other diseases not diagnosed from much younger individuals that will skyrocket and dwarf the deaths from and with covid.

Anybody who has lived in Melbourne would pick it over anywhere in the old dart for many a reason but not any more.

Economy and a business is not just a job and the esteem and dignity you give to those that work in that business it is family , social activity , structure and compliments your reason for living.

Our politicians from all sides by and large have no idea how to involve themselves in a public health response other than to stuff up life as we know it.

Notably all those bureaucrats and public servants have given up nothing financially throughout the pandemic.

if they cut their salaries by 50 per cent and more than many other in the private sector have had to endure the draconian response would be much different.

99 per cent of cases are mild and if managed well you protect the elderly and vulnerable and let the rest get on with their lives.

Be interesting to note that Sweden has had no more deaths this year compared to last year.

Wonder outside China bullying Taiwan and wishing they were no longer a free democratic society , how Taiwan is going these days.

Matt Hancock also commented on reinfection cases and says there is now evidence that they are real but that in every case he has studied the second infection has been different and milder and all but asymptomatic.

Yeah course, because one thing we all do is force our own opinions on the kids...just like the right.

Bureaucrats and elected officials have a history of being the wrong class of individuals of managing a public health response.

A question of balance as Justin once penned minimise the risk and minimise the fall out.

Let the young and working class do what they do best and protect the elderly and vulnerable.

Doesn't have to be a political discussion but when you reach the lowest common denominator you rarely get the outcome you should.

At least we in Melbourne and most of Victoria are getting a taste of life under CCP.

Don't push what you wish for too hard because once its gone you don't get it back.

How is life in Poland these days.
