Of the 700 odd Scottish infections announced today

43 in over 65s, only 3 of those are in 85s+

22 in under 15s

287 aged 15-19

362 20-64s

At 6 % Ayrshire that is the lowest % in a while and very good news. Yet Nicola Sturgeon has kept on saying more older people are catching it and entering hospital. Obviously the big worry right now as the most likely to het really ill or die.

Still puzzed why the testing has never born that out.

Good news as it is that it doesn't.

The uptick started in Scotland earlier than England and ventilators first went up there. But they have yet to multiply in the same way they have in England and being still at 11 after a month of rises is not catastrophic when there were over 221 at the peak of the first wave here. So only 5% of that number.

England have 227 on ventilators and at the same preak had 2881 - so about 50% up on the Scottish 1st v 2nd wave numbers here and it would seem a week or so behind Scotland.

Some 1,700 students at the Birley campus and Cambridge Halls at Manchester Metropolitan University have been told to stay in their rooms for 14 days, even if they have no symptoms.
More than 510 cases have been identified among students and staff since universities reopened, according to data collected by Sky News up to 25 September.

I suppose dido didnt see this coming either lol

I'd say behaviour is getting worse not better with the new restrictions, then again you get to see a different side of people you thought you knew.

Rare good news coming.

All settings deaths 34 - down a little on recent days.

And cases lowest in a few days too at 6042. Tests show as 245,000 but I think that might still be yesterdays.

The England hospital data also looks like good news too.

Only 7 extra patients taking number to 1622. The lowest daily rise in over three weeks. Last Saturday it rose by 60.

Better still ventilators DOWN for first time in days from 227 to 223. Small fall but it is a fall. First time it has not gone up in 16 days. It went UP by 8 last Saturday, And UP by 7 the Saturday before. So this is not a factor. Kaz.

Regional scoreboard is down everywhere as you might expect.

London significantly from 584 to 361

Midlands very little from 572 to 541

Yorkshire not a big fall either from 762 to 682

But the NW biggest fall of all from the record 2215 - very substantially to 1645. Which is still the third ever highest

So London falls in percentage terms the most, NW next highest drop and twice as good as Yorkshire's and the Midlands the smallest fall.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what do you mean by as numbers being down as expected?
