Who the fuck is leaking all these reports? Manchester MP’s supposed to be furious they’re finding stuff out in the press. Utter shambles.

It's the government themselves. They've been bollocked numerous times by the speaker for doing it before announcing it to parliament. It gets leaked. They see the reaction then act accordingly.

Plus they’ve cut all the bloody other admissions all through the summer to deal with the pandemic even when figures were lower than they are now.

Not true, they opened up all the closed covid wards except a few again and have been pushing people through as fast as they can,
I know this as my daughter has worked through the summer in her wards geting patient discharged and getting new patients in as fast as they can.
One of those wards has now been handed back to covid treatments, another is being readied. So from one ward lost to covid through the summer their hospital is already back to probably losing 3 wards to covid.
The hope is this clampdown means 3 will be enough. Doing nothing and admissions doubling evey week would mean back to 6 wards full of covid.

And Jonny could also sit a few metres away and just the fact she can de him will help her mentally and not spiral into mental health issues or dementia. Old people need stimulation and company to not feel too old.

He could, but I doubt all are as conscientious as you. If you want to lick up the elderly and vulnerable, you have to ensure they don't come into contact with anyone who is potentially a risk, no matter how emotional that might become.

The instructions have been vague and contradictory. Combine that with cabin fever from lockdown and people thinking they are immortal then it's bound to rocket.

10pm pub closures just for people out earlier and I've refused trains to take them all back. Pissed up and lost their masks.

I feel as though everyone has been affected by the virus be it contracting it or mental issues around possibly catching it, changes to routine etc. With no clear and understandable guidance that everyone had to stick to has increased the problem.

can i ask how many people in the uk have had covid-19 since the start of it ?? today the media are reporting today 17.000 new cases, what was it it in its prime ?? i think the total death rate is around 50.000

so what is the population of the uk ? 90million or so and how many have test for covid-19 have been positive ?
are we talking about 20 or 30 million cases

According to BBC the number of confirmed cases is 544,000. The actual real number of cases is higher. Let's optimistically put it at 10 times as much....so that's about 5 million, which is about 7% out of a population of 67 million.

If we need 70% infection rate to achieve "herd immunity", that's 10 times as many people. It took 6 months to get to 7%, It could take 10 times as long to get to 70%. That's only another 5 years and then it will all be over.

Really, so exactly what percentage of the UK should be locked up, what is this minority you seem so knowledgeable about.

No one wants to be locked up

Don't lock anyone up as I've said. People can make their own decisions and risk assessments. Some high risk people don't want this and would target live their lives. You're asking for everything to be shut down as you can't enjoy it, how do you think that's fair? I'm sorry if your situation dictates that it is best that you isolate or whatever, but that won't change regardless of pubs, restaurants etc being open.

It's because too many were already rejecting some of these rules we are back to where we are.

Let's at least be honest here with each other, far too many people decided even the relaxed rules weren't for them?

The government, not for the first time, have entrusted it to personal responsibility, so now look even more incompetent playing catch up again after the horse has already well bolted.
