COVID-19 — Coronavirus

I know, but this winter is, up to today at least, not any different from most other winters and that is the only point I am trying to make.
I agree that if people were just looking at the number of beds occupied on the wards and ICU it’s very comparable with Autumn in other years. Even when the remaining empty beds are full it won’t be much out of the ordinary. The difference will be when the surge capacity is full and we (the public and the NHS)!need to stop that from overflowing and stopping other essential services. We know from the cases already locked in that we will be utilising the surge capacity in the next weeks / months.

Of the 152 England hospital deaths today they were aged between 36 and 97.

And seven of them aged beteween 61 and 95 had no known previous underlying conditions.

Said it before and I will say it again, we all need to take personal responsibility to suppress the virus and the country as a whole needs a minimum four week lockdown. This tier three nonsense is not a lockdown of any sorts. Whilst it may be that the outbreak is not growing a quickly as feared two or three weeks ago it is still growing at an alarming rate. I suspect we will hit 30k new cases this week or early next.

Agree about the Tier 3 nonsense, far too many aren't taking it seriously and carrying on as normal.

We came out of the proper lockdown far too soon, and that isn't hindsight.
