No you don't. You said you have a PHD in computer science and statistics. That is in no way relevant to how the epidemiologists and virologists come to their conclusions. You may have some insight into the publishing of their statistics, i don't know. They or the government may disagree with you. But you have no insight whatsoever into how they come to the conclusions they do. None.
You're a joke.
Time based correlation statistical theory doesn't change, no matter what you are measuring.
Quite simply the raw data is not published so we can't validate PHE statistics.
The fact that they got face mask science so badly wrong back in February/March/April tells me they need to have their workings checked.
They are not allowing this to be done.

Shouldn't we also consider the number of undiagnosed cancer patients there are due to Covid, or the number of fatal heart attacks and strokes that have gone untreated because of covid as well as the mental stress that many people are having to endure because if Covid?
Maybe we should, how many have there been? When you have the data it will then be possible to make that judgement on facts rather than gut feeling.

Here is the latest top 10 red zone towns from the government based on their weekly pop(ulation) scores.

A few changes since last time but Greater Manchester still colonising these ten worst infected areas in UK. With their weekly Pop number.

Recall this is 5 days old data as they wait to allocate cases to the actual date - so after I will tell you how numbers are then I will say how things have been going since where I have been tracking.

1: Blackburn 736 (889 cases in last 5 days versus 772 in previous 5 - so will be well up and still top.

2 Oldham 689 (as of last night it had risen to 755 after a series of bad days so will be closing in on top)

3 Wigan 660 (recent numbers have been even worse and now up to 741 - so also pushing for top spot sadly)

4 Salford 611 (also been in big trouble in recent days and risen to 693 yesterday)

5 Merthyr Tydfil enters here at 586. Cannot update this,

6 Rochdale 573 (also gone up steeply in past days and was 660 yesterday)

7 Bolton 547 (gone up 48 in those days and was 596 yesterday)

8 Doncaster 540 (had fallen from 547 in previous days)

9 Rossendale 530 (big drop from 665 in past list - from recent scores not likely to be up much and likely out of top 10 now)

10 Tameside 529 (new entry but no surprise - was up to 576 last night)

Of the other GM areas only Bury are close to pushing for entry (currently 596),

This is a forum, not a SAGE meeting. SAGE aren’t coming on here to see what we’ve got to say, but we will all discuss the rights and wrongs of what they do, like any other matter.

They/the govt don’t seem to have looked at evidence that gyms aren’t really contributing much to spreading this virus and ignored the fact that’s schools are, massively. A barmy situation from them to put jobs and businesses at risk for what will be negligible impact on cases and deaths.
This is a pandemic not Formula 1. People on here don't just state their view they flat out say the experts have got it wrong. Some flat out lie. If this virus has shown us anything its that there are some truly gullible people who get their opinions from social media. So in this case, science deniers are dangerous. They should have their own "alternative facts and science is wrong" thread

Shouldn't we also consider the number of undiagnosed cancer patients there are due to Covid, or the number of fatal heart attacks and strokes that have gone untreated because of covid as well as the mental stress that many people are having to endure because if Covid?

Or are these meaningless and irrelevant statistics?
To get the treatment that these people need means availability of NHS resource. Allowing Covid to get totally out of control will not facilitate that, hence measures needed to try and gain some control.

You know nothing about how they came to their conclusions and you would be unqualified to asses it if you did. Your opinion against the experts is worthless. Its founded on your own starting bias.

23, 254 cases up 1300 on yesterday v 19, 790 last week.

All settings deaths 162 was 151 last week.
