Given the way the news reverberated around the world so quickly (oof - an analogy!) I’d hazard a guess they are pretty confident about this (I emphasise that’s a guess).
I’d hate something highly negative to be drawn from the next stage of results/tests/peer reviews.

Nottingham next for mass testing.
Gonna assume Manchester is way down the list for obvious, recent, reasons.

I will call it. We will be back to European away days next season. We might even see an FA CUP final in person this season, fingers crossed we get there.
Hope you're right mate. I would say that on a personal note one of the few positives of not being able to go on the lash watching City or go away on holiday is that I've saved an absolute fortune which has enabled me to put loads more money into my pension and save up to get some much needed work done on my house.

Good stuff mate. People who are investing in their houses will speed up the bounce back from the recession eg creating extra work for trades people, DIY stores etc.

I’ve not even got a valid passport at the moment so I would need to get one sorted fast if we looked like making the Champs League final. I’m not sure we will be allowed to see games in grounds this season but it’s a possibility now.

Just me that's surprised by the low prevelance rates in the vaccine trial, placebo or otherwise? 44000 people, 22000 of whom were given a dummy vaccine - and only 94 infections in total? I see they're continuing with it until they've had 164 infections in total as this is a figure approved by the FDA as a high standard of efficiency testing.

This has been the main hold up for the vaccine in the past few weeks, not enough people have been getting infected from the trial groups.

Pfizer are the first to unseal their blinds because they had set one of the lowest limits for # of infections in the trial group.

Infections were so low that at one point the scientific community were debating Challenge trials, where everyone in the trial is exposed to the virus deliberately, and the ethics of it.

Mass testing to roll out to over 66 local authorities - Hancock

UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock says he has written to every director of public health in England to offer the rapid mass testing that was trialled in Liverpool last week.
He tells Sky News 66 local authorities have already expressed an interest in the tests and he expects "a whole load more" to sign up.
The tests would also be available to authorities in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, Hancock says.
"Lateral flow" tests, which can give a result within an hour without a laboratory, have been used as part of England's first trial of whole-city testing in Liverpool, with all residents offered regular tests whether or not they have symptoms.

I work on the assumption that news released is actually a bit behind the current situation i.e. they're maybe another step ahead of what were actually being told. Especially the way it's been delivered. Imagine it it goes major tits up the effects mentally on the world will be almost as bad as the virus.

To use a @Two Gun Bob type analogy it's like new improved toothpaste/washing powder/TV's, which are always the best ever...they tend to have at least another more improved step in hand at least,I fucking hope so.
