However, big caveat the testing is even lower today than yesterday.

We did over 337,000 a few days ago. Yesterday. It was just under 257,000.

Today it is just 219,000.

This testing is becoming hard to justify as being credible with huge swings like that.

How can it not be lowering numbers found?

are as many people venturing out for tests now they're in lockdown?

Surely this is something all of us Brits can be proud of. We are the biggest donor. Cant see that many other major country donors sadly. Where are the workds two biggest economies the US and China?

The regional numbers are also fluctuating day to day.

London 1501 - down from 2086 to lowest in 3 weeks

Midlands 2788 - down from 2983

North East 1303 - down from 1340

Yorkshire 3001 - up from 2804

And North West (like Yorkshire) up but by the most today to 3388 from 2796.

According to The Sun 8 of the ten GM boroughs (Oldham and Bury the two not mentioned on their map) are in the 60+ authorities being given soon the new rapid result tests to allow mass testing like in Liverpool

We did over 337,000 pillar 1 & 2 tests three days ago. Then 301, 000 two days ago. Yesterday. It was just under 257,000.

Today it is just 219,000.

Oh thats a shame, i wonder how the figures compare with total tests per week over the last three weeks?

That's a shame, when i saw the number of cases had dropped i was hoping it was a sign of the new lockdown taking effect, I suppose it's a little early to see this though.

That’s assuming these are the only places doing it. They won’t be.
Yep. Capacity to vaccinate greater numbers will surely go up as time goes on. In any case, even if it was *only* 650,000 a week, it’s 650,000 more a week than are getting vaccinated now. Some right negative fookers on here at times!

I wonder if they would move onto Greater Manchester just before Christmas, and how many people will be told to isolate over Christmas and New Year, and how many take no notice of being told to do so?

just an idea, but if less people are getting infected would that not mean there is less reason for people to get tested? May go a little way to explaining the lower testing numbers?
