I wonder if they would move onto Greater Manchester just before Christmas, and how many people will be told to isolate over Christmas and New Year, and how many take no notice of being told to do so?

The Sun journalists from my experience of them probably could not find Bury and Oldham on a map to include them.

just an idea, but if less people are getting infected would that not mean there is less reason for people to get tested? May go a little way to explaining the lower testing numbers?

It’s hard to tell mate. For example, there’s
total apathy about the virus on some of the unofficial City Facebook pages. There might be fewer infections. It might also be that people can’t be bothered getting tested during the wet weather.

The Pfizer vaccine is set to be the first ever mRNA vaccine approved of it goes through. And through on much shorter time scales. Wowsers. I can understand some people being unsure about side effects if I'm honest, it's only natural surely.

Greater Manchester was up today but not disastrously. 1626 v 1404 yesterday. Wigan was the biggest reason for this - way up again and almost beat Manchester for a second time.

Most other places up a little only. Still well down on last week by many hundreds.

For the first time in a while the % of the NW total also fell to below 50% at 48%.

So still a good day.

Sadly there's some talk in official circles that - in some areas at least - some people with symptoms are actively avoiding tests because they don't want to self-isolate.
