Saw this on a WhatsApp group and you can guarantee it will be used (somehow) as anti vaxx propaganda.
Any idea?
Presumably to counteract any negative side effects given the scale of vaccination.

Vaccines always have some ADRs.
Having an AI application to analyse ADRs from a multitude of vaccines seems eminently sensible to me

ok, some data re the new lateral flow test being used in Liverpool;

Sensitivity 76.8% for all PCR-positive individuals but detects over 95% of individuals with high viral loads
Specificity of 99.68%

Detection limit roughly equivalent to 25 Ct in PCR test

Oxford University and PHE confirm high-sensitivity of lateral flow tests

Extensive clinical evaluation shows lateral flow tests are accurate and sensitive enough to be used in the community, including for asymptomatic people.

today in Liverpool; 44k tests and 220 positive, rate of 0.5%

this is still being pushed to those without symptoms.

More than 50% of people infected are asymptomatic
50%-70% less virus particles are exhaled by an infected mask wearer. The better the mask the more particlles are excluded.
50% less virus particles are breathed in by a non-infected wearer.
A reference to 45 papers that back up the conclusions.
(Although it doesn't say so, the above numbers roughly equate to the fall in infection rates over a 2 hour period).

I was surprised to read today that 3 in 10 of those who have died in the younger age category (under 45’s) had no pre existing conditions. This falls to less than 1 in 10 for those over 70.

I didn't mean to like your post but I did. I was skeptical at first but I'm glad you started all those months ago. The papers are coming in pretty thick and fast in support of them. The attitude has been pretty poor in some quarters, I think Boris and co could really be a lot more positive in selling it as doing your bit for the country.

There is not a drug that I can think of that does not have one unwanted, negative side effect associated with it. Frequently death - like beer, paracetamol, aspirin, etc.

AI software is used in most areas of life these days. When processing large amounts of data, it's now normal to use AI/Machine Learning to try to find every ounce of useful information, every significant pattern, that it contains. There's more AI involved in processing the data created by your google searches, posts, emails, and every other tiny little thing you do on the web, building the unique profile that identifies you on the web and tells advertisers and others how to treat you, than any mortal can reasonably comprehend.

Fun fact, they already use AI and big data to mine social media sites, in order to predict and measure outbreaks of disease. Like, they may get a pretty big clue where a bunch of people catch something, if they all routinely go to the same nightclub on the same night.

dont see why that is surprising, a 70 yearold is surely likely to have more chance of an underlying condition
