So annoying.

Is there much transmission in Primary Schools or is it mostly secondary? My daughter is primary and only one class was sent home to self isolate between sept and Xmas.

My sister who is a teacher at a secondary has had a nightmare with both staff and pupils having to isolate all the way through.

I would have thought the risk from Primary is low as they don’t go out once school has finished.
We’ve had six staff positives and 8 pupils, aged between 4 and 11. It’s been a logistical fucking nightmare classes toing and froing in and out of isolation. We’ve worked tirelessly to mitigate but it’s like trying to push back the tide. A Sisyphean task. I was all for keeping our school and others open but I wonder now if we should go into full blown ultra hard lockdown, and get as many vaccinated as we can over the next 6 to 8!weeks whilst closing everything except absolute essentials. Schools to go online. At the moment it feels like we’re drifting between the laissez faire let’s keep business open as much as possible whilst still talking of mass testng / vaccination. The scenes at Euston Friday were symptomatic of that. It’s half-arsed and it’s not working IMHO

Regional cases scoreboard is pretty bad news for the North West sadly.

Anyone dreaming of tier 2 should forget it. Clearly going the other way. Tier 4 more likely. Until they see sense and get shut of these worse than useless tiers

All southern regions down today. Northern regions up. North West the worst of all regions outside of the south. To its highest number in weeks.

Over 5% positivity is the number the WHO suggest is to be avoided as that represents a pandemic out of control.
Do not understand how they can say that, just bluster as far as I can see.
if you test 100 people who are feeling really ill with symptoms you will get a bigger %, than a random 100 people.

To advise what they have, would need a criteria for the people being tested
