When they say its much more transmissible, what does this mean? Does it stay live on surfaces for longer? Does it travel through the air for a further distance?
I think at the moment the main evidence is simply that it's transmitting faster in the community - a lot faster - than the other variants current.
The main theory seems to be that there's a higher viral load in noise and throat, so more transmission by all routes.
But nobody really knows at all yet, I don't think.
