Yes because they only have the approval based on the two specific doses , they cant change it

Might depend on if the Oxford vaccine is approved for less than two doses which I think they still believe works better based on more recent data added to the first. But whether it will be approved for that this early is another matter.

Different trials, different dosages , one doesnt affect the other , they each have their own licences

Interestingly by the way with the perception being that deaths are rising in England hospitals the week to week data is not so clear cut.

The last 7 days of deaths at 5 days at 1898 is actually down from the previous 7 day period which was 2054.

However, a caveat is that there are some concerning signs from recent days.

21 December after just 3 days is already at 311 - and is now almost certain to become the new peak of this wave which currently sits at 324 on 18 November.

311 at day 3 is the highest England hospital death number since 26 April - just 2 weeks after the peak of the first wave.

Richard Tice (not my favourite person) has put out a tweet praised by Gaz Neville would you believe saying he ( Tice) has made enquiries and has established that the much aclaimed and highly publicised London Nightingale hospital has in fact GONE.

I realise that but they may well impact government thinking on dosage use for the other vaccines if protectivity from one dose is enough to allow time to wait for the second when more deliveries arrive.

This is a scarce asset and how to use it whilst it becomes less scarce is open to debate.

Never mind, putting it up was good work for someone.

He only needed look on Wiki beds and equipment removed early Dec although hospital remains rent free for NHS use if needed.

That was always going to be the case though, the plans was to staff the Nightingale hospitals with early graduated students and staff they had brought back into the service on temporary contracts in the first wave. In that sense the issue was never the speed of getting these emergency hospitals ready, it was the speed they could get trained staff in them. Its a total none story and great smoke and mirrors trick. Not a single person is asking why we do not have enough staff, just arguing that its terrible how they are not in use. Im sure people did make money setting them up, but that was surely just good practice to have an overflow. This time around the money just isn't there to throw around, i think staff will also be much harder to come by at this time of year.
