COVID-19 — Coronavirus

I commented before the league Cup quarter that it felt a bit like watching the West Ham match last season, last home one before the season was suspended.

I hope our match today is a one-off, but given how rapidly this is increasing right now it seems unlikely.

As a country, we're making the same mistake yet again. Waiting until we absolutely have no choice before acting, rather than getting ahead of the virus. Whilst footie is minor compared to death and injury, it's the same root cause.

If a maximum of fourteen days is allowed for the incubation period, then todays figures would be showing rates of disease, corresponding to the 14th of December. Tomorrow the 15th dec etc. Taking into account Public behaviour, ie shopping, celebrating, Christmas Holidays. Tier and geographical information. Would anyone on here be able to plot these figures on a graph say from 14th December to 4th of January in order to give a general picture of the effects of covid over the Christmas period. Or even try and project the figures for these dates. I have a feeling we are heading into unchartered territory and it worries me. This new variant I mean.

It's a sign of insanity doing the same thing over & over....I think both the Govt and too many of the public have gone well past insanity.

yes the season should end now enough with this

I don't agree with that, but I do think a suspension might be necessary.

But mainly, we need a set of restrictions in place the experts actually believe will reduce the prevalence. Otherwise events may overtake any ability to run footie, or much else besides

We’ll be in a national lock down after New Years which of course will be closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. Trying to remain positive but I just have a feeling these vaccines won’t be the magic bullet everyone is hoping for and this will carry on for years to come.

Although I like a good grumble on Bluemoon I'm generally in the real world pretty positive and am equally happy at home with Mrs Moon as being out and about but even I'm getting weary with it all now.

A failed vaccine is going to really cause chaos with lots of peoples mentality.
