I don't know if it has been posted on this thread today but it appears that people won't need to be monitored for 15 minutes after receiving the Oxford vaccine. This makes the roll out even easier and the same as the flu jab. As long as we have adequate supplies of it there is absolutely no reason not to administer huge numbers of shots each week. Distribution is incredibly simple too as it can be carried in cool bags so that health workers can take it anywhere.

The German health minister has said today that the UK expects to achieve herd immunity by Easter. In contrast, there is a lot of criticism building up in Germany at their perceived slowness in rolling vaccines out.

Apparently they have made the vaccine but forgot that there might be a large demand for little plasticky bottles to put the vaccine into. This is slowing production.

Boris is doubtless onto it and mobilising a Womble Army with himself being a dead ringer for Uncle Bulgaria.

Collect all the old bottley things you can find out there and we will have the vaccine to you in a jiffy....

Or a jiffy bag at least.

PS not all of the above is a joke. Bet you cannot work out which bit isn't.

Back on the schools, we are now being told the opening of primary schools will be reviewed on the 13th of January.
Thats just fucking ridiculous, stinks of a "send them back for a week and see what happens" plan.

when I had my 'flu vaccine I was told to wait on a chair in Boots for 15 mins post vaccine just in case I had an allergic reaction. The appointments were based 15 mins apart to allow for this.

Supply might be an issue. They did noticeably say in the Downing St briefing that they'd be vaccinating on the basis of keeping up with supply.

Should have done what they did in America and make it drinkable. They call it BudPfizer.

They were saying there was millions of this ready to go, now it’s 530,000. That’s probably about 2 weeks worth of vaccinations with the pace they are at now. Slightly concerning considering it’s the vaccine the majority of the U.K. population will probably end up getting.

I’ve never been told to wait after a flu vaccine at my local gp surgery.
