I have used my iPad, as well as my substantial graphic design talents, to create the following to demonstrate why “pushing it away” is an important mitigation strategy from a public healthcare capacity perspective.

To respond to the inevitable snark, it was actually quite the achievement to keep my hands steady to draw this without my stylus (which I think the missus nicked).

First UK death just announced

That statement looks very carefully worded . The patient was coming in and out of hospital with a medical condition and had just tested positive. They may have died with the coronavirus rather than of it.

Better screening and testing will definitely drive up the confirmed cases over the next few weeks, which is not necessarily entirely indicative of more actual cases, though many mild cases will still go unrecorded.

But, as you said, the overall trends are not particularly encouraging.

I do wonder if we will soon see the CFR in Italy fall as better data is available, though. We can hope, anyway.

Been told one of my neighbours has tested positive now. Not someone I really know, or have seen recently or expected to come into contact with normally, but true or not rumours and gossip are rife right now.

II have to go to germany two next weekends and though I LOVE to travel, I'm not fancy it this time. Not at all. It's Berlin and Frankfurt, less affected area though, so it's bit easier. Glad I did Essen and DOrtmund last month.

According to the BBC the latest advice is that anyone returning from any part of Italy should self isolate. Presumably that would mean we wouldn’t be able to play Juventus in the CL?

I am inclined to agree, and I really do not see any point in playing behind closed doors. What if as is surely inevitable players get it? It would be farcial.
