I had this
Message from Market Street Medical Practice. To support efforts to minimise the spread of the Coronavirus, we have adopted a policy of triage before any decision for a further appointment is made. This applies to all appointments including cancelling our walk-in service. Instead, we invite all patients to access appointments online, by visiting www.tinyurl.com/marketstweb and clicking the start online consultation button. For anyone who cannot access this, telephone triage will be used, however, lines will be very busy so please use the online service. In all instances, clinicians will review your needs via online and telephone before a face-to-face appointment.
You're lucky you had a walk in service, our was phone at 8am, fail to get through for 3 hours, then "nothing left". They wrote to me and asked me to make an appointment then gave me the 4 months waiting time.

Anyway I don't want to diss those out there doing the real work, hero's one and all.

I think Merkel said similar for Germany as well. About 70%.
Whitty said 80% was our worst case scenario, higher than the German figure. The point is these are both contingency plans, an actual infection rate of 10% has not yet been predicted for any country on the basis of current data. The highest rate is in Italy with 350 cases per 1M of population - 21,500 people infected out of a total of 60m - another 57,500 to reach 1%.

60 million people die every year and nobody gives two fucks most of the time. A lot of your ‘42 million’ would be in that number naturally. I know it’s not a good thing that’s going on currently but I do wish people would stop making out that nobody ever dies and then this virus comes along and kills everyone very unexpectedly.

I hope to see you back on here in four weeks spouting this crap

It's a bit terrifying considering first we were told that people with previous health conditions or elder people are suffering the most from COVID. Now the age range is constantly decreasing.

Well maybe this could change our governments approach as they don't seem to give a stuff about the original 'vulnerable groups

Ours have a morning walk-in mon, weds, Friday but if you want to see anyone you have to queue up before opening at about 7:30am. Any later and you’re sat there till 12 or are told it’s full

Apologies if already posted - according to this article, a frighteningly high percentage of people pass the virus on before they’ve even displayed any symptoms. So even if we feel fine, how can we be safe to check on elderly/vulnerable friends and relatives?

This is broadly true of most viruses, to greater or lesser degrees. It isn't something to worry about, as there's nothing that can be done (apart from isolate everyone!)

The only named British victim so far died in Bali from it, with underlying health issues, aged 53.

That lady isn’t one of the ten people who have died in the UK in the last 24 hours.

As stated in my post, the youngest was late 70s and the oldest in the 90s.

I’m 66 in a few months so I’m not saying this from a least risk position.

So much fake stuff about, even in here people are saying a friend of a friends auntie sucked off a tramp who knew an Italian doctor. Either post real evidence backing up the claim or don't post it at all imo.
its opened my eyes how weird and selfish people can be in times of need. I mean on site where I work there's lads on there smashing the toilet roll holders in the cubicles and nicking the toilet roll ffs. You go out and about and there's just a strange vibe about. What cheered me up today was a video clip of someone playing "dance monkey" on a sax and an old Italian nonna in Naples dancing on her balcony giving it some.

I don’t know if this is accurate or not

“US Pharma Company Gilead has been working on a Vaccine and is close to one , it has been tested in Wuhan in China where the Chinese have asked can they make it and distribute it for free to everyone , Gilead said no they want up to $100 per vaccine”
From what I can gather Gilead may have a drug that could treat it. Not a vaccine. That could be ready earlier than a vaccine. Another company is leading the race to a vaccine.

your age group has an 8% death rate so far.

Christ, the poor bloody Italians are getting smashed by this virus. The following video shows the difference in deaths in the lombardy region Feb 9th then today, 3 pages to 10 in one month!

I have been chatting to a friend whose in Bergamo, today. They are all on locked down. It’s possibly been the best week in the history of Atalanta BC but the fans can’t enjoy the success like they would like to. The Bergamo people are just trying to keep spirits up and get through the crisis, together.
