This CV crisis has caused lots of us to re-evaluate the contributions of front-line essential workers. That in turn has thrown into sharp contrast the obscene earnings of top footballers and the money-grubbing mindsets of certain top clubs.

A few short weeks ago, I was bellyaching (in good company) about losing to the rags. How perspectives have changed!

Sorry folks - I can't quite work out what the current R0 is? I've heard it as low as 0.6 to as high as 6.

They won't know till they count people with antibodies. 2.3 was the guestimate in South Korea, China and Singapore. But that's for people who wear face masks. 6 is a guestimate in the US

No we don’t which is really my point about using the daily death figure as an indicator of anything. Without going over yesterdays debate, only the numbers in hospital and critical care are a reasonable guide.

Those numbers are only useful for telling you how bad the problem is likely to be in the future.

Deaths tell you how bad the situation has been up to the present.

Was it Gelson's Dad a few pages back suggesting it's probably positive news if it around R0 of 6? Far more contagious but means most of the population have probably had it but haven't been hard by it?

Was speaking with someone a short while ago. Clever engineer bloke/lecturer....off piste went to COVID19 and there it is again...the belief this is a global reset from the financial institutions. It's not just loons/tin foil hatters: there's a lot of this about (even when presented by the facts it's biologically been proven to be zoological rather than man made).

I’d like to see a tougher lockdown for a few weeks before returning to a few weeks back in the type of lockdown we have now, never mind coming out of it now.
