It costs a fucking fortune for the privilege too!Have you been in some of the private care homes?
The owners don't like shelling out for decent food, let alone extra PPE.
I wouldn't let them look after my dog

All that pisses me off is the deflecion of blame, by care home owners, to the Government without challenge by the blamestorming press.A lot of care homes small businesses - the social care authorities commissioning them certainly won't be using JIT, who does for low value item?. The type of PPE they are short of isn't normally used either.
It isn't anybodies fault unless you expect social care authorities to stockpile stuff they don't normally use. A lot of the Gov £1.6b first traunch to Local Authorities mainly aimed at social care is going on extra hours and increased PPE costs.
Can anyone explain how during ‘normal’ times care homes source and buy their own PPE. Why now is it the Government’s fault that they have insufficient amounts.
he's talking pre virus then during virusBecause unless you haven`t noticed these are anything but "normal" times. In fact I`d say they are absolutely fucking abnormal times.
your explaining supply and demand over the counter, how about were going to have a problem so lets scratch our heads and do fuk all with a 2 month warning, no shortage of raw materials or labour just the brains are missing to put it together which really is not that hard versus the universal credit nightmare they designedApportioning blame is not going to solve anything. I have worked in global procurement in the past. A simple analogy that may (or may not put some perspective on this). Sadly I am a smoker, which dependant upon recent research may be a good thing. I go to my local shop, less frequently obviously and ask for 20 B&H gold. The shopkeeper works out his sales and orders stock accordingly. If I went in tomorrow and asked for one million B&H he obviously would not be able to supply. Not excusing the shortage of PPE but world demand is currently off the scale, and key manufacturing countries are saying fuck off we need all we can produce for our own.
You curious my precious?:))wft? Is that Yoda speak?
it's their jobVery good point, the press love to hammer the government.
If the shopkeeper had been warned that the biggest threat to his delivery chain was B&H shortage, then, yes, he/she should be duly criticised.Apportioning blame is not going to solve anything. Interesting but probably no surprise.
