Fake news surely. After all, Germany has got everything spot on with this while we’ve fucked up on all fronts*

*No doubt we have fucked up on various things, but not opening back up as quick as other countries might turn out to be a good decision

Think the spikes are very localised, the question is how they contain them, if they use local lock downs it may just be enough to put out fires and stop out any wide spread jumps.

Yep. Whilst obviously you don't want this kind of news, you want to be able to discover new cases and act on them quickly. Which seems to be happening as they're localising lockdowns. Which is what I believe was touted as a potential measure here in the future.

Before they were tested they would have been at home with their families,they will be going to work/school etc,it has been drummed into us that the R has to stay below one,it is not latching on,it is seeing the news and discussing it

Clearly it's not great but id be more worried if they hadn't identified this early and hopefully contained it. It went up a few weeks ago in Germany exactly the same, was back to normal in a couple of days.

These outbreaks are bound to keep happening, sounds like these factories need some better health and safety measures putting in place.

What are you referring to here mate? have you read some study?

Yes mate, a few actually. I believed a ruptured economy would lead to a massive surge in mortality rates, So I started googling and reading, death rates seemed to fall in the 30s depression, and rise at other times. Unfathomable to me. Interesting to do some more research, I have been more worried about the economy than the pandemic.

Although it’s not good, they contained it probably too well early doors and consequently are going to go through the same pain in nursing homes that the rest of us have.
