what hurts is how many familys are having masssive get together’s right now, all having a jolly up. Whilst we feel like miserable bastards doing what is right.
Ever rising death toll and further lockdown all because some ‘had’ to be with their family’s today.

I have just been with the Mrs and one of the kids for dinner. She has not seen her partners nor me mine. Couldn’t forgive myself if anyone of them got it for the sake of one day. You did the correct thing.

Might be a bit late in the day now but I found a beer helped nicely. Had my first one at 10am and then left it until 6pm once the dinner had dropped down. I've basically hung out with the mrs all day and watched old City season reviews. As a matter of fact i've just watched Dean Ashton dump City out of the FA Cup in 2006 so you are on thin ice tonight mate.

Try to make the most of the rest of the holiday period bud. Enjoy!

Me & Mrs Moon are home alone, don't feel brilliant about it but certainly don't feel awful.

If at all possible it's the right thing to do mate.
Our Son who lives nearby came round to see us before going to his girlfriend's for Christmas dinner. Even though it was just above freezing we sat in the back garden to exchange presents.
Mrs BSS made him a couple of bacon barns and a coffee to keep him warm.
I know that he hasn't mixed with many and always wears a mask at the required times. Call me neurotic if you want but I just didn't want to take the risk of letting him in. Feel really guilty about it but it stops me worrying for the next five or six days.
Just the three of us for Christmas dinner as daughter still lives here but I know that she is far more sensible than him.

Usual bubble yesterday, me and Mrs H and Dad, plus for one day only Sister and Husband. Nice day, bit of TV later, 100 most embarrassing moments but BIL (he's called Bill as well) never shut up talking as soon as a celebrity appeared!! Good hearted lad though and cracking washer up. Back to normal today, let's up the relaxation hasn't been abused too much but not holding out much hope, will be watching for Mrs @Healdplace figures in a few days, fear the worst.

In the 13 days to Sunday the 20th December 521,594 people received an NHS vaccination. Boris says we're at 800k now but we need to vaccinate at 2m per week.

In my circle, my sister-in-law has had her 1st vaccination but none of the grandparents and annoyingly our local GP surgeries have yet to start.

This was going to be a rant / exhortation to start vaccinating at a much faster rate but then I realised do we have the supply to do what we want? The papers suggest the MHRA are expected to authorise the Oxford vaccine in a couple of days so I hope this happens and that we get some clarity about the schedule and what is possible around then.

If there is a supply problem, why? Why weren't manufacturing plants repurposed by national government(s)? Remember Trump and his ventilators? The vaccines are much more important and yet we seem to be reliant on a very small number of plants fulfilling a global demand.

We had the in-laws round, but I declined letting my mum and her partner join us and am taking a Xmas dinner round to them in the morning.

The in-laws was more to do with the mental health aspect as my father-in-law has dementia and the mither-in-law needed to be with us, we had windows open etc and sat as apart as we could but it was difficult especially as the father-in-law continually asked us to close the windows as he was cold, lol.

Done our best though and there will be no guilty feelings in our household.

Enjoyed the day, been nice.
Mither in law!! Intentionally or not that’s a classic

The worst week of my life in terms of illness.

We had to call an ambulance out to me on Xmas Eve night just before midnight.

It was so upsetting for wife and kids, couldn't stop coughing and my temp was at 38.4.

The paramedics were first class and could see I was conflicted about going to hospital and potentially be asked to stay in for a few hours.

I'd not even gone into the loft to get the Xmas presents down and that was also praying on my mind, which might sound stupid to many.

They checked my blood pressure and oxygen levels and had me walk up and down our stairs a couple of times.

In the end they prescribed me some antibiotics for a possible secondary chest infection and told me to go straight to A&E if things got worse.

Walking up and down a loft ladder at 1am in the morning and bringing down sacks of presents is not something I would ever want to repeat or recommend.

Wife did her first Xmas Dinner and I managed to eat some and make the best of it with her and the kids.

I just can't shake the terrible thirst during the night and heat and cold sweats.

I've tried sleeping on my stomach, just to try and open my airways and am now into my seventh day.

Coughed up some blood in the shower this morning but it was filled with muscus and spit also after I deliberately tried to hack something up.

I don't mind admitting, this whole thing has shaken me to my core and scared the absolute shit out of me. I'm a fit guy, albeit, 46, with no underlying health conditions.

My wife and son come out of their own isolation today and they were pretty much recovered within four days and just lethargy.

My mum and dad watched from the road as my kids opened their presents in the front window.

It was heartbreaking, but it was the best we could do and it kept my folks safe.

It is a horrible, nasty virus which grabs a hold of you in so many different ways, next time you might hear someone talk about it with any degree of flippancy, walk away in the opposite direction - quickly!

I read that like colds and flu it get hold of you because people are lacking in vitamin D, I feel everyone should be on VItamin D in the winter time drinking plenty read that having an Aspirin to thin your blood will help.

Blimey mate - utterly awful.
Hope you’re on the upward trajectory soon. So many are flippant about this and there’s you - a healthy guy my age getting hit like this.

Ive had flu (really bad flu) perhaps twice in my life and a few years ago caught a bug from somewhere (whether food poisoning or something from a set off offices we were in - water?).
That last one I though I was going to die. One stage 5 days in I was crawling to the bathroom to try & manage a sip of water...(shitting blood at one stage).
Ex rang emergency docs at 3am but as I’d managed to have a sip of water they deemed me not worthy of an ambulance.

Horrid things these...rest up mate and get well soon.

Indeed.
I used to get prolonged colds throughout the winter months but actually after picking up running and generally getting healthier I’ve been pretty much free of them.

Sorry to hear that buddy, hope you get sorted soon. i wouldn't worry to much about coughing up blood. its common for people with chest issues to get hemoptysis. Unless is deep red and lots of it or like tar then you have nothing to worry about
