Very helpful to know how it was in practice versus the advice on paperJust got back from Lanzarote the other day. If you do your homework beforehand its not too bad getting through the airports. What I will say though is, if you can print your forms off as well as having them on your phone you will sail through quickly. At Lanzarote on the way back they didn't want to touch your phones for obvious reasons and some people were there for ages looking for QR codes etc. So apart from Boarding passes try to print everything off
Me and my wife and 2 kids aged 6 and 9 went. Me and the misses were double vaccinated . Don't forget to book your day 2 PCR test on the way book
Obviously the below is for the Amber countries. I know I'm teaching people how to suck eggs but thought it might help in what we experienced
Manchester airport
- Went with Ryan Air - took about 20 mins to check in our cases. Self service luggage machines. Scan boarding pass, weigh cases it gives you a tag for the bag . Just give them to woman on desk and they chuck them straight through and quick check of passports.
- 20 mins waiting to get to security . As per usual electronics and bags on tray
- All done in record time. (albeit airport was quiet)
- Usual at the gate itself. Boarding passes and Passport check
Arrival in Lanzarote
- Quickly through border control. Just a check of passports
- Got luggage
- Random spot checks in checking Spanish Health form. Temp check on both kids
Whilst in Lanzarote
- Me and Wife got the Antingen within 72 hours of leaving. Walked into local clinic 20 euro's each . just the swab up the nose. We got a barcode on a piece of paper with our passport numbers. We could then check our results 2 hours later online and got the hotel to print off the results as well as our passenger locator forms.(If printed off, easier to navigate through airport)
- Approx 45 min wait in checking in. Slow moving with the staff checking phones.
-If you have documents printed you will sail through.
-Once through usual security check
Arriving Manchester
-As per normal except at border control they'll check passenger locator forms as well as passports

Spanish Health form (Print off if you can)
Proof of Vaccination via app (Print off if you can)

We booked our 'day 2 PCR Test' to be delivered to our address . £200 in total for the 4 of us which is probably as cheap as you'll get it. Company called Biograd we got ours from
