Covid and travel discussion

My partner is in Phuket (Karon) for a few days. She was showing me her journey live and man, it's very quiet around Karon, Kata and Chalong. Hardly anywhere open and those restaurants and bars that are, only 3 or 4 people in there. Not many Farang about!

Locals are saying it should pick up in January.

Phang Nga was very wet and quiet a few roads flooded.

Can't remember the name of the poster who was facing issues getting into Thailand as a family however it seems they have relaxed the rules a bit now....

going to Bulgaria this Christmas (well, intending to), this is from 2 pages on their own gov website:

"Passengers permitted to travel from a Red Zone country must present both a Vaccination Certificate or a Certificate of Recovery from COVID AND a negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours of travel on entry. A negative antigen test is not accepted for entry from Red Zone countries."

pretty clear, UK is Red Zone. Next page;

"NOTE FOR: Citizens ... arriving from a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation and from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the Northern Ireland or from a country listed in Annex 4 of the Ordinance are allowed on the territory of the country upon presenting one of the following documents:

a negative result from a test conducted up to 72 hours before entering the country by the method of polymerase chain reaction for COVID-19 (PCR test), certified by a valid EU digital COVID certificate for testing or
• a valid digital EU COVID-19 vaccination certificate, or
• a valid digital EU COVID-19 recovery certificate, or
an equivalent document containing the same data as the EU digital COVID-19 vaccination, recovery or testing certificate."

right. Choose which page to believe.

spain saying over 12s have to be fully vaccinated so loads of familys gonna be fucked

Does that include 12 year olds? My nephew is 12 and due to go Spain at the end of March but he’s only allowed 1 jab at the moment.

not really an issue right now, because things will end up changing again before March anyway

Is the UK definitely classed by Bulgaria as a Red Zone country? If it is, then what you've posted is clearly contradictory. Proper pain in the arse!

nearly every country is Red Zone, i think they have a smattering of green and orange, barely any. This is foreign affairs ministry, poor effort!

That does indeed include 12 year olds, unfortunately.
Hopefully it's just a temporary measure and by next Spring the rules will be a bit more normal.

As a minimum he will likely need a PCR test before travel unless double jabbed by then (which I'm guessing won't be the case!)

Furventura has just moved up to level 3 locally so restrictions on the island from today, rest of the Canaries are still level 1.

didnt see that coming, but they do have a problem there with boats coming in from the African coast which many have been positive, Tenerife well up on infections over fuerteventura so may be advised to keep an eye on this if your going out there soon enough, Spain level 3 is quite strict so wouldnt want to holiday in those circumstances
