Covid and travel discussion

Things slowly opening up in Tenerife. I'm waiting a few more weeks to monitor it. If it continues on an upward path I'll bob over early September.

I think you'll be ok.

They don't have enough hotel quarantine rooms to be throwing major European countries on the red list.
Hence France going 'amber +' last month....the capacity just wasn't there to shift it to red.

I think it would have to take something seriously major to happen Covid wise for that to happen.

Hows it been booked? Separately from the flights or as a package?
Me too but hard to convince after we got stung in June ( came off green the day we got our tests delivered)

Haven’t even bothered booking flights this time around, only 10% Villa deposit

I'd pay the extra! haha. It was 4 seats in a row either side, now 3 either side. As a family of 4, I'm hoping to play my solo card

Not possible to have 4 seats in a row either side! Probably a 2-4-2 Boeing 767 downgraded to a 3-3 B737/B757 or 3-3-3 B787. If I was you I’d ‘accidentally’ get checked in on my own at the front nice and quiet haha.

As for holidays, I have my 3rd one of the year booked to Spain on 1st September. Been to Portugal (May) and Spain to visit parents (July) so far this year. All been an absolute breeze so hoping for the same again.

Anyone cheered by UK gov announcement today that France accept NHS covid certification on the app - beware.
They don’t.
Not down in Provence where some of my mates are.

Could have sworn I'd seen 4 in a row. Maybe TUI's map was a load of tosh.

Mate I’ve just looked at the restrictions unless it goes to level 1 it’s still masks, all nightlife shut, swimming pools at 1/3rd capacity. Are you itk on Tenerife because we are due to go end of September and im basically calling the trip off because of testing and restrictions it seems pointless, just wondering on your thoughts.

Yep, get it printed by your GP and posted out, takes about 5 working days. Always better to be armed with a piece of paper abroad than an app alone.

I'm also looking at booking for the end of Sept, although will it be really worth it? I wanna know if its busy etc

In Cala D’or at the moment. Central area at night is very busy as are all the restaurants. Beaches (although small in Cala D’or) are very busy too. Hotel is a bit quieter than in previous years and the flight coming over was about 75% full. No doubt it is quieter than normal at this time of year, but still plenty of people here.
