474 patients (Friday - last data) - was 524 last week Monday

52 ventilated (Friday - last data) - was 58 last week

ENGLAND HOSPITAL DEATHS - OVER THE WEEKEND

Generally promising with no big rises and numbers look week to week still down on 2 weeks ago though pretty flat with last week which were compronised by the day when they literally lost all the death data if you recall. We are now beyond that in week to week comparisons but still have five days before we are entirely free of its impact versus two weeks ago.

SATURDAY:-

81 Deaths With 13 North West:-

Last Week Was 130 with 35 North West & week before 115 with 10 North West - significant drop here

SUNDAY:
-

24 Deaths With 2 North West:-

Last Week Was 23 with 5 North West & week before 16 with 0 North West

TODAY:-

14 Deaths With 4 North West:-

Last Week Was 20 with 1 North West & wek before 19 with 6 North West

TOTAL OVER WEEKEND 119 - WAS 173 LAST WEEK & 150 THE WEEK BEFORE - significant drop here

NORTH WEST ONLY 19 - WAS 41 LAST WEEK & 16 WEEK BEFORE

ENGLAND HOSPITAL DEATHS MORE DETAIL

Over the weekend by Age:

20 - 39 (2), 40 - 59 (14), 60 - 79 (51), 80 PLUS (52)

By Regions:

East 15, London 11, Midlands 42, NE & Yorkshire 18, North West 19, South East 3, South West 11

Most by trust:- 10 Leeds & 8 Nottingham were the most over the weekend

North West Trusts:-

5 in East Lancashire, 3 in West Lancashire & Liverpool, 2 each in Pennine Acute & Tameside AND 1 each in Blackpool, Manchester, Salford & Wigan

SCOTLAND DATA TODAY

0 deaths - was 0 last week

2244 cases - was 2481 last week

10.7% positivity - was 11.4% last week

715 patients - was 709 yesterday & 750 last week

52 ventilated icu - was 55 yesterday & 59 last week

Steady progress week to week

NORTHERN IRELAND DATA

4 deaths - was 3 last week

1464 cases - was 1469 last week - down 5 after being down 1 yesterday - a start!

11,643 WEEKLY CASES - WAS 11,815 Friday & 11,930 LAST WEEK - Slow but falling now

32 CARE HOME OUTBREAKS - DOWN 1 ON FRIDAY - WAS 35 LAST WEEK

340 patients - was 370 Friday - was 378 last week

24 ventilated - UP 2 on Friday - was 26 last week

PATIENTS DOWN IS GOOD TO SEE AS IS CARE HOME SLOW DECLINE IN NUMBERS RESUMING

THE REAL GOOD NEWS IS THAT THE AGE RANGE SPLIT OF THE WEEKLY CASES IS STILL GOING THE RIGHT WAY DESPITE OVER 11 K CASES.

HERE ARE THE AGE RANGES BY NUMBERS V LAST WEEK:

0 - 19 = 4726 V 4982

20 - 39 = 2642 V 2769

40 - 59 = 2955 V 3112

60 - 79 = 788 V 905

80 PLUS = 116 V 160

EVERY AGE GROUP DOWN WEEK TO WEEK AS CASES FALL WEEKLY BY NEARLY 700 BUT A GOOD CHUNK OF THAT FALL IN THE OVER 60s FROM ALREADY MUCH LOWER NUMBERS HERE THAN THE REST SHOWS WHY DEATHS AND HOSPITALISATIONS HAVE NOT BEEN GOING UP AS CASES DO - THE AGE OF THOSE CATCHING IT IS THE KEY.

BUT THE REASON IS LIKELY THE VACCINE BOOSTERS - SO ALSO WHY WHAT WE LEARN ABOUT THE INCOMING OMICRON VARIANT AND THE VACCINE'S RESULTING EFFICACY VERSUS THAT WILL EITHER BE DISASTER OR TRIUMPH OR MOST LIKELY IN THE MIDDLE AND JUST A BIT OF A SET BACK UNTIL BOOSTERS CAN BE AMMENDED TO TARGET IT LATER THIS WINTER.

IT IS LIKE WAITING 3 WEEKS FOR A VAR DECISION ON A WINNING GOAL IN THE LAST MINUTE OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL - NOT THAT CITY WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO WAIT THAT LONG FOR THE COMPUTER TO SAY NO.

Decided to post the UK numbers and the hospital numbers later. But not all the usual tables for case numbers and pop scores and GM weekly cases nor Zoe app numbers

Though I will post a general overview of the day and mention anything key.

I am still keeping my own data base up to date so if anyone wants me to post anything I don't mention - please do ask. As I can very probably do that for you on request.

I am just trying to find a balance to which nobody will object.

35 all settings deaths - was 45 last week

21 in England v 34 last Monday

42, 583 cases - UP 4902 on yeserday (double day Wales is 2000 of that) - was 44, 917 last week - DOWN 2334

34,906 in England - UP 2770 on yesterday - was 36,478 last week - DOWN 1572

ENGLAND HOSPITAL SUMMARY

NORTH WEST DOING WELL VERSUS THE SOUTHERN REGIONS WHO HAD THE BIGGEST RISES IN PATIENTS IN LAST FEW DAYS

ENGLAND PATIENTS STILL DOWN WEEK TO WEEK BUT BY A LITTLE LESS THAN IT WAS LAST MONDAY AFTER A HEFTY RISE OF 204 YESTERDAY TO TODAY THAT SPOILED ANOTHERWISE BETTER WEEKEND THAN THE ONE BEFORE.

THIS RISE WAS MADE UP ALMOST ENTIRELY OF BIG RISES IN PATIENT NUMBERS TODAY IN THE SOUTH. LONDON ALONE UP 105 OF THAT 204 INCREASE TODAY.

ADMISSIONS (THURSDAY TO SATURDAY) (always 48 hour behind on admissions - the rest of data is all from today)

697 THU / 637 FRI / 611 SAT V THIS WEEKEND (SAME DAYS) 650 THU / 620 FRI / 609 SAT

ALL DOWN WEEK TO WEEK - TWO WEEKS AGO THESE SAME THREE DAYS WERE 791 / 729 / 655

SO ADMISSIONS ARE LOWER THAN THEN TOO BUT A CLEAR SLOWING DOWN OF THE FALL AND THE NEXT TWO DAYS ADMISSIONS WILL BE HIGH GIVEN THE 200+ PATIENT RISE IN THE SOUTH TODAY.

Over the three days the regional admissions week to week were:-

London 290 V 266 (UP 24), Midlands 375 V 379 (DOWN 4), NE & Yorkshire 276 V 353 (DOWN 77) & North West 246 V 252 (DOWN 6)

North West and NE & Yorkshire clearly the lowest at present and Yorkshire really dropped. But London and the smaller southern regions all up a lot.

PATIENTS FRI/ SAT / SUN / TODAY

5992 / 5852 / 5890 / 6094 Today - Risen by 102 since Friday - That is actually down from the rise last weekend and all due to the bigger than expected rise in the south today:

Last week's numbers were:

6310 / 6191 / 6322 / 6424 - Risen by 114

Weekend before the numbers were:

6777 / 6663 / 6707 / 6864 - Risen by 87

So the FRI - MON numbers are pretty flat over the three weeks and still just about trending down

Two weeks ago on Monday the week to week fall was 7075 to 6864 so a fall of 211 week to week.

Last week the fall Monday to Monday is 6864 to 6424 so a fall of 440

This week the fall Monday to Monday is 6424 to 6094 - A FALL OF 330

So it is a pretty flat slow fall week to week

Over weekend:-

REGIONALLY London UP 56 to 1099, Midlands UP 10 to 1158, NE & Yorks DOWN 8 to 1059 & NW DOWN 18 to 834.

So NW and Yorks the only ones falling as it has been for a couple of weeks now. And NW down the most over the weekend.

Week to week London (UP 32), Midlands (DOWN 51), NE & Yorkshire (DOWN 142), East (DOWN 55), South East (UP 7) , South West (DOWN 37) and North West (DOWN 71) over the last 7 days.

SO WEEK TO WEEK YOERKSHIRE AND NORTH WEST FALL THE MOST.

VENTILATORS OVER THE WEEKEND

This weekend (Fri - Mon) the numbers were:

796 / 787 / 793 / 793 - DOWN 3

Last weekend the numbers were:-

769 / 764 / 776 / 785 - UP 16

Two weekends ago the numbers were:-

838 / 830 / 841 / 821 - DOWN 17

So week to week today ventilators are UP by 8

The previous week to week was DOWN by 36

REGIONALLY over the weekend London has 179 (UP 4), Midlands 156 (DOWN 4), NE & Yorkshire 130 (UP 3) & North West 106 (DOWN 3)

North West did have a good weekend

NORTH WEST THOUGH IS UP WEEK TO WEEK BY 12 FROM 94 TO 106.

Healdplace, thanks for all your efforts. I have you in my favourites so I could go straight to your posting and cut out all the other bollocks. Living in Bolton , I was looking forward to Bolton going second for the best overall score. I don't blame you for cutting back though , I couldn't be arsed doing it.

Will let you know what happens when I work it out later. In fact will post it.

Anyone else just ask if you miss something and I will happily do so too if I can.

Its always a big job doing all the hospital numbers over the weekend on a Monday. But they are a priority over the coming weeks. And simpler day to day as there are not several days worth in one go.

Not sure exactly what you mean by 'best overall score'.

If you mean the weekly Pop Score then last night it was 337 Bolton v 332 Manchester for second place with Oldham best in GM.

Just worked it out today now and Bolton made it after having had another very good day and sub 100 cases for first time lately (99 in fact).

Well down week to week so good Pop Scre fall. Whereas Manchester was up week to week by 22 on 214.

As such Manchester rose 4 to 336 and Bolton fell 15 to 322 - easily overtaking Manchester.

Indeed Oldham was a lower score (74) but up slightly on last week so its Pop Score rose from 312 to 313 - so the gap to Bolton for top spot fell to just 9.

Bolton has a real shot at catching Oldham again as Bolton is falling the most right now and Oldham goimg up.

Though 313 is the highest 'low score' in GM in a while.

If you meant something else just clarify and I will let you know.

Here is the GM Pop Score Table after today:

Trafford has unhappily returned to the bottom today.

Lowest Numbers are best - Highest Worst remember.

Down means good week, up not so good

1: OLDHAM 313 - up 23 in week

2: BOLTON 322 - down 44 in wk

3: MANCHESTER 336 - up 27 in wk

4: BURY 389 - down 21 in wk

5: TAMESIDE 396 - FLAT on last week

6: STOCKPORT 397 - down 25 in wk

7: WIGAN 400 - up 5 in wk

8: ROCHDALE 419 - down 19 in wk

9: SALFORD 420 - down 2 in wk

10: TRAFFORD 444 - up 58 in wk

Rochdale has the highest GM Pop Score across the pandemic and will enter the 19K club tomorrow (Pop Score on 18,989 today). Will be first GM borough to do so.

Salford is next closest on 18,852 - 3 or 4 days away.

Lowest Pop Score across the pandemic remains Stockport on 17,305 - Trafford the only other one in the 17Ks is an ever increasing 512 ahead on 17,817. Heading for the 18 K club possibly on the same day as Salford is the 19K at the end of this week.

I meant the total pop score for the overall pandemic. Don't do it on my behalf though.

The total daily pop numbers are nothing really to work out.

But Bolton are indeed one of only three still in the 17Ks.

Up 34 today - only bettered by Oldham on the day (who had a daily rise of just 31).

Oldham after scoring only 74 - lowest cases in GM today.

Bolton now on an overall Pop Score of 17,903 - will enter the 18K club in two or three days probably a day or maybe two ahead of Trafford who are on 17,817 but whose Pop Score today was up 54.

So it will be close but on present scores likely Bolton will just beat Trafford into 18K even given that Bolton is doing much better than Trafford right now. But one good or bad day can change all that. Either way both will be in 18K by the weekend

Both are well ahead of Stockport with the lowest Pop Score across the pandemic on 17,305 (up 52 today) and probably not entering 18K until later next week.

But as you say Bolton will likely catch Trafford and go second behind Stockport somertime over the next 5 days.

I will post the data for you until it happens.
