GREATER MANCHESTER SUMMARY TODAY

North West was UP 100 today on yesterday.

Of this number Greater Manchester UP by 31 of that number TO 1867.

Exactly 31% of the rise - under par (GM currently running at 39% of the NW total about right for population). So good result but tiny numbers.

North West week to week was UP by 815 (from 3993 - 4808)

Of that number Greater Manchester is UP by 188 (from 1679 - 1867)

Even lower split of the NW number than day to day - around 23% - so good news again.

HERE ARE THE NUMBERS PER BOROUGH

Oldham the third into 19K club. Wigan looks set to be the fourth by Monday.

Stockport - now alone in the 17 K club for a week at most - extended its lead as the lowest Pop Score across the pandemic V Trafford by another 24 to 560 as Stockport again had a better day than a struggling once more Trafford. Biggest lead I can ever recall now.

Trafford is also highest Pop Score in GM today and is now well above the rest in the weekly table too and has risen from 392 to 463 in just 8 days.

At the other end Rochdale reduced its lead over Salford by 7 cutting the gap in the highest across the pandemic to 113

SCOTLAND DATA

DO NOT GET TOO EXCITED AT THESE NUMBERS AS THERE HAS BEEN YET ANOTHER DATA ISSUE AND IT IS NOT YET CLEAR HOW MANY CASES ARE LOST IN SPACE BUT ONE WOULD IMAGINE QUITE A FEW.

14 deaths - was 17 last week

1257* cases - was 2287 last week

5.9%* positivity - was 8.2% last week

605 patients - down 53 - was 727 last week - This is good news

50 ventilated icu - was 46 yesterday & 53 last week

NORTHERN IRELAND DATA

No data issue here - sadly - and all we get here at weekends

9 deaths - was 2 last week

1642 cases - was 1482 last week

No Wales data on Saturday remember. We get Fridays numbers tomorrow and Saturday & Sunday combined on Mondays.

So unless England has a disaster today with that missing number from Wales and the missing Scotland data then cases will likely be well under 50K today. But not 'for real' given the 3K or more missing for those two reasons.

Just a warning in case the media forget to factor that in when reporting later.

127 all settings deaths - was 131 last Saturday

England only 104 v 112 last week

42, 848 cases - that is well down even with the Scotland and Wales caveat mentioned above

Up 3281 on last week. (Also with Wales missing so the only reasonable comparison - though likely to be a few hundred less than it should be due to Scotland)

England only 39,949

That is 3939 DOWN on yesterday but 4151 UP on last week.

NORTH WEST NUMBERS

4130 - Down 678 on yesterday & UP 77 from last week's 4053

GREATER MANCHESTER NUMBERS

1503 - Down 364 of that 678 in the NW - over 50% - so a good result for GM

And week to week that is Down 63 from 1566 which though small numbers is obviously good if GM falls as NW rises.

Well over half the rise - (GM currently running at 39% of the NW total about right for population). So good result for GM v the NW.

Stockport extended its lead as the lowest Pop Score across the pandemic V Trafford by only 2 today as Trafford had a very good day. The gap to Stockport is now 562.

Trafford is also highest Pop Score in GM today though Wigan is up the most in the past week

At the other end Rochdale reduced its lead over Salford by 9 cutting the gap in the highest across the pandemic to 104

Bluehammer - Here are the latest Kent numbers as I promised:

Dartord

78 cases (down 23) - Total 19,696 - Daily Pop Score 69 - Pop Score 17,270 - Weekly Pop 452 (up 2)

Medway

236 cases (down 15) - Total 46,043 - Daily Pop Score 85 - Pop Score 16,495 - Weekly Pop 564 (up 20)

Both still high now unfortunately - but also down a bit today on yesterday.

WALES DATA

FRIDAY ONLY - AS USUAL ON SUNDAYS

5 deaths - was 9 last week

2567 cases - was 1963 last week - Quite a large jump here (though two weeks ago it was 2408)

9.7% positivity - was 8.5% last week

452 patients - was 447 last week

45 ventilated - was 44 last week

ZOE APP DATA

UNfortunately this has started rising again.

Predicted cases back up over 80 K on 80,833 - up 1310 just today.

Ongoing cases still rising modestly by around 4 - 5 K a day - on 1,092,022 today - up in the week from1.050,525 - which is a smaller weekly rise than it was two or three weeks ago at least.

In the regions North West has gone up two days running and has sadly vacated today the lower watch zone - leaving Scotland alone there - though they are also edging up this weekend.

North West remains 11th out of 12 regions - but up from 823/1128 Friday to 876 /1193 today.

Wales stays top and is up the most today on 1407 / 1943

South East unsurprisingly is the highest England region just behind Wales in second and rising steadily for days on 1339 / 1560 today.

Yorkshire is also falling steadily and could overtake the NW any day now on Zoe.

Within GM it has been all change over the past few days. Stockport has risen quite a bit after falling for over a month and then staying around 5000. It has risen daily since Thursday by 3124 to now be on 8086.

Indeed it is now not 10th out of ten but has been overtaken by several falling boroughs.

Oldham is on 3326 - though it has edged up a bit over last two days yet remains the best.Neighbor Rochdale has plummeted too from nearly 17,000 4 days ago to just 6068 and is next lowest behind Oldham. And Bury did fall big too and was just below Stockport but has risen too the last couple of days and on 8118 - is today just above Stockport.

So there were 4 sub 10K boroughs -the most in GM for many weeks. But even better newstoday as this became 5 when Bolton fell to 8494. A long time since half of GM has been i the lower watch zone.

At the other extreme Tameside has risen steeply onto 27,629 though its numbers on Zoe have long been suspect. And Salford on 25,185 was top for the past week (reaching nearly 40K at one point) but is now falling sharply.

So on balance GM is going down on Zoe and numbers are less drastic than they were when only Stockport was sub 10K and many were over 20K.

Trafford though - scoring the highest in the real cases daily - has stuck around 18/19/20K for two or three weeks now and is struggling to progress.

Elsewhere in the NW the two Cheshire regions East and West have fallen and are both around 13/14K

But High Peak - neighbouring the GM areas that were doing well - has gone through the roof from weeks staying very low around 3000 to go 3056 - 7904 - 13,359 to 18,912 today.

SCOTLAND DATA

THE DATA ISSUE HAS NOT YET BEEN FULLY RESOLVED IT SEEMS

1 death - was 0 last week

2067 cases - was 2177 last week

9.6% positivity - was 9.3% last week

586 patients - down 19 - was 719 last week

45 ventilated icu - was 46 yesterday & 55 last week - The hospital data continues to be really good news and way more important than cases going up and down

NORTHERN IRELAND DATA

No data issue here but all we get at weekends

7 deaths - was 2 last week (for the weekend that is 16 v 4 this weekend to last unfortunately)

1422 cases - was 1405 last week

UK numbers today

54 all settings deaths - was 51 last week. England 41 of them - was 40 last week.

43,992 cases - up 6311 on last Sunday. England up 5260 on 37,396

NORTH WEST NUMBERS

3892 - Down 238 on yesterday & UP 266 from last week's 3626

GREATER MANCHESTER NUMBERS

1568 - UP 65 when the NW is down by 238 - so not a very good result for GM on the day. Rochdale up 70 and Manchester up 63 day to day were the biggest risers here.

Week to week GM is UP 116 from 1452 - 43.6% of the 266 NW rise which is slightly above par (the GM split has been around 38/39% lately).

The biggest culprits week to week were again Rochdale up 53 and Stockport who were up 42 week to week also. Though Stockport still gained another 7 Pop Score points from Trafford who were up 34. They and Manchester (up 26) together created the weekly rise with relatively bad days as the others mostly fell a little.

Stockport had a bad day and went over 400 for first time in a month. Zoe got this right as noted this morning in here. However, Trafford is still doing badly too and Stockport extended its lead as the lowest Pop Score across the pandemic V Trafford by another 7 today. The gap to Stockport is now 569.

Rochdale - though - had the worst numbers today and is up the most week to week.

As a result Rochdale (with hghest Pop) extended its lead over Salford (todays lwest Pop) by a whopping 37 in one go to now be the highest across the pandemic by 141
