Very much still a dump, sticking to the floor. It’s right by my work and spent far too many nights in there before a mad dash for the last train. Shit hole of highest order.Not been in the Royal since about 1984 and was brought up in Crewe, its still a dump now though.
I know plenty whose kids are growing up there. Funnily enough its not so bad when its all youve known, its when you leave and go back that you see a place for what it is,or maybe its just gone downhill over the last 25 years.You wouldn’t want your kids to grow up there ;-)

Disagree with you about Lincoln. Some good boozers there.Some classics in this thread - been to most of them.
Not seen much mention of the delights of:
Gainsborough
Boston
Lincoln
They don't have 6 fingers, generally 7. They also have fully developed flippers if I recall correctly.
Also total and utter dives.
Hull and Hereford get honourable mentions at the end of the list

I spent a few months in Linclon nick. Got put in a cell that was condemed full of mold. Best mashed spuds ever though.Disagree with you about Lincoln. Some good boozers there.

Just come to Newcastle passed the sign for the great peterlee on the A1. The locals are playing banjos in the fields. On a serious note passed the angle of the north not took much notice of it before, what an eyesore that is
