Cressida Dick resigns

That really is tough on the Federation - the Mayor is an elected official so whether they like him or not he remains Mayor. Its a bit worrying that the Police "union" seeks to be political like this. Maybe they should concentrate on doing their jobs catching wrong 'uns and locking them up as they seem to be failing with the very basics

Exactly. He was only re-elected last year. The police federation trying to usurp a democratic vote.

No confidence in the police federation?

Has there been a candle lit vigil against the mayor recently?

I think the public have shown more trust in Khan than the Met in the past few years, as you say, shown by re-election last year.

When do we get to vote for this Met Fed representative?

Expected responses from the news the Met have no faith in Khan.

Khan is mayor and responsible for the policing plan for the GLC so they have every right to comment on him.

Big job being London mayor. You don’t get to hide away from all the shit and play the blame game all the time.

If they don't like the job they are free to leave. They could always join another force elsewhere

Many more have no confidence in the Met

Flack’s decision to take her own life was extremely sad but if you don’t wanna do the time don’t do the crime.. Anger issues spilled over into her assaulting her partner.. They bang on about the mistreatment of women (for good reason) consistently and this was one example of abuse the other way around.. I disagree that she was only threatened with prosecution because she was famous.. That’s exactly why she had to be charged… because she was famous and therefore it drives the message home, abuse is not acceptable

I find your statement contradictory - had she just been a member of the Public the conclusion I draw from your statement is that she shouldn't have been prosecuted because that wouldn't provide a very public example to dissuade others.

Also the article is about the Met being censured for doing a half arsed investigation into their own handling of the case and now being made to do it again.

Not sure what part of the Mayor is in charge of MOPAC and is directly responsible for Londons policing some don’t get nor the importance of the Mets federation now saying they have no confidence in him.

He has bitten off far more than he can chew here.
