Crete

Knossos palace and Samira gorge good days out.
Chania for nightlife and quality restaurants.Enjoy!
Yep, get a tour guide at Knossos, excellent visit. Did the Samaria Gorge about 1982. Sturdy footwear required albeit I had trainers, supposed to be 18k more like 18 miles, dip your feet in the Libyan sea when you've finished. Always remember the warden who counted walker's through, he used to pick up bee's that had been blown up the gorge away from their hives, put them on his shirt and delivered them to a safer place. Just hope they've improved on their bogs.

And this is a posh one

I stayed in Stalis for two weeks and totally ignored a restaurant as it looked a bit shabby on the outside. I went in on my final night and had the best meal of my holiday sat above the waves gently crashing against the rocks. I yearn to return just to taste that diabolo steak once more, I'd have eaten there every night if I had never judged the book by its cover for the first 13 nights.

I've fond memories of holidaying in Crete.
Had an end of season break in Malia and watched the 6-1 demolition of the raggies in a bar.
Malia old town is lovely.

I've been to Stalis on a couple of occasions and enjoyed both ,nice beach, some good restraunts and a good place to relax.

Hope the op has a good time.
Thank you Lusty - much appreciated
