Crete

I recommend you get a taxi to kato gouves one evening. It's not too far (20 mins ish) and worth the trip. Go to any of the places on the beachfront. All lovely to watch the sun go down.
As I mentioned on the Dipper thread Kato Gouves has the “ This is Anfield” pub grrrrr :-)

Great resort is Stalis. Rovers Return and the Red Lion are both fair to middling. Rovers return has a nice outdoor sea view terrace to chill with a scoop of Mythos. Some good bands playing on a regular basic, good for the football at the Lion.

If you want it more manic then trot down to Malia for the clubs and strip or take a left on the Malia beach road for the Pirate Beach bar, which is a few hundred yards to the right of the mini roundabout. Had some banging days there with a nice island to swim out to, caribean music vibes and nice long mixer drinks. You can walk to Malia in 30 minutes or take a regular bus.

We like Stalida though as it's more our age group, but Malia has it's moments. Some nice beach bars in Stalida where you can chill in comfort all day, our favourite was beachcomber. Bit pricier, but we got the sunbeds and tables for free.

Malia beach road has another Red Lion doing lush food and drinks with great vibes and well worth the visit (25 minute walk) and very well reviewed

The place below is a gem, head on the beach road Stalis toward hersonisis and at the end of the prom its sits in it's own secluded corner. Beautiful fish dishes and excellent service. A few mornings we even used it for breakfaxt as it was so nice. Staff are wonderful and prices very reasonable.

@Two Gun Bob thanks again for this.
Finally tracked down the Rovers and Red Lion last night. Much preferred the latter.
Our Villa is actually next door to the Romantic Corner. George and the team are amazing. We have just had an ice cream dessert and mini carafe of Raki for zero euros.

Temperature will be climbing nicely until this time next month when it will rocket.
Have you got a/con ?
