Why put Crawley opening? He’s still very green. Should have put Denly in to open and have Crawley further down the order to protect him a bit more. Poor management from Silverwood and Root.

Whilst it’s a tough introduction to test cricket for Crawley, it would be harsh on Denly, who has performed quite well at number three thus far.

I’m pleasantly surprised that Bairstow didn’t retain his place.
