If you mean Lance Gibbs, I particularly remember him for his bowling action. Lovely to watch. Saw him in the late sixties play at Worcestershire cricket ground which also, incidentally, is one of the most beautiful grounds in the country.
I was referring to Herschelle Gibbs, the aggressive SA opener. Lance Gibbs was before my time :(

Root completes his double ton. Excellent knock. The question now is when does he think the lead will be big enough to declare. 300? 350?

*edit* If they get to 300 ahead. A collapse of sorts this morning; 3 wickets gone in half an hour or so.

421 all out. Weird looking scorecard; more than half the team didn't get to double figures. But a majestic innings by the captain. England in a very strong position now, nearly 300 runs ahead. I can't see them not winning here, unless the weather misbehaves drastically. Apparently, showers are forecast for the afternoon. But it's only day 3, so plenty of time available to England.

Weather looks iffy for the next few days so main reason for slogging and losing the wickets in that 1st session.
The weather will be England’s issue.

It sounds like the commentary is coming from a house or something.
Are Sky not there?
