Who knows...got it in his last test. Might have been the start of things to come!

My point on Crawley is that his age coupled with the fact he can play some shots means you have to stick with him. We don't have enough options out there to not give someone with a knock like that a bit of time.

Ideally he would be coming in at 3 after a good opening partnership to adapt to test cricket. At the moment our middle order are all playing the new ball more often than not! He has hit a few 50s but is so inexperienced still the jury is out. I just think he is someone we should stick with and Sibley should be binned.

actually i am sort of inclined to agree re Crawley, up to and including the 267 he was going along quite nicely in his career, i think people forget that a bit as obviously his form since the 267 has been rough as guts.

If one of Crawley and Sibley remain longer term, it would be the former for me. Sibley's shot making is....not good.

Yeah, was being naughtily facetious to be fair.

We are bereft of opening talent that does put strain on the other batsmen. They’re noe devoid of confidence too.

Harry Brook at Yorkshire has looked good this season. He might be worth a punt.

Warner, Finch. Smith, Labuschagne. Marsh, Maxwell, Paine (c, wk)
and 4 from Starc, Pattinson, Hazelwood, Cummins, Lyon

Of those, only Marsh isn't centrally contracted, so there are plenty of others to bring in and out.

I'm baffled as to why that team is considered not much good in Australian conditions. The only thing against them is that they're ageing.
Finch and Maxwell won't be playing in the Australian test side it'll be Harris or Pucovski and probably Cam Green in the middle order with Wade if their series against India is much to go off. Not sure what's going on with Warner, he got dropped as captain by Sunrisers in the IPL which seemed a bit odd? Hope it's Burns opening though - their Burns is worse than ours.

What's going on with Warner is he's averaged 85.3 across 12 innings since the Ashes.

I just picked an XI - I don't know the details on who will play.

Most of that XI would get in the England side though for test cricket in Australia, and if they can leave some of those out (for whatever reason), that seems to me to be a sign of strength.

Smith, Labuschagne and Warner walk into this England side and make up 3 of the 4 best batsmen.

come the first test they will be right up for it in their own back yard. they well get in england faces and we bottle it
its like scotland playing england at football ? they want to kill the english and so pumped up. the aussies will be well drilled and right up for it

they have the kookaburra ball for a start. the wickets will be made to order to suit them. plus the heat and the crowd. if you could guarantee archer stokes woods being 100% fit and take the right spinners we could give them a game. but after the 2 test vs india and our batting we still stand no chance.

am sick of root coming out and saying the same old shit ? its my fault ? to damn right its your fault
your fielding setting are school boy stuff and its happens all the time. if not for your batting you would not make this team

Yeah well that helps when he hit 335 againt Pakistan almost 2 years ago. Only hit one century since, which granted is a lot better than a lot of our shower

Take out the 335 and hes still averaging 47.

Take out their best scores and Sibley is averaging 11 this year , Crawley 7 and Burns 21!

i think it's Crawley that is averaging 11 in calendar year 2021 and Sibley about 20, but not exactly tearing up trees

anyway, what do you think about giving Crawley time? he averaged 49 up to and including his big knock, and since then is in poor form over about 8 tests. Give him another couple against India?
