good shout matey

test cricket should be on free to air tv so kids can start to see and understand the game and want to take up cricket
That would be fantastic. But, would the ECB be prepared to take a financial hit in moving test cricket back to terrestrial TV? I'm fairly sure that BBC, Ch 4 or ITV wouldn't be able (or prepared to) pay whatever Sky are paying at the moment.

Each side will have a masked swinger, unveiled to chants of “Take it off”.

Fours and Sixes will be replaced with Fives and Tens.

The crowds can win prizes if batsmen hit the inflatable targets suspended over the boundary rope.

Oh and the ball will be made of cheese.
One side based in Manchester of course and they recruit a well past it player for obscene amounts of money. I give you Andrew Flintoff.
Oh hang on someone’s already done that.....

For context, that game is in the bottom division in this year’s County Championship set up.
Seven years now since Robson’s Test summer. They both fell into that category of averaging around 30 but not being able to push on from there, and then the media say it’s time for someone else.
Very true and they’re probably about as good as Burns and Hameed. We’ve got lots of mediocre openers.

Does Nick Compton still play?

should england test cricket be on sky in the first place ?? why did the ECB sell up to them knowing its a limited viewing and not everybody has sky ? free to air test cricket would be good for many sponsorship deals even on the bbc

That's something I can’t answer, I'm afraid. Apart from the obvious, money.

Ticket prices are getting crazy too. I think the chealest at Lords was around £120.

When I was growing up, our scout group used to be let in around tea time for free and watch the evening session before helping tidy up afterwards.

prices are daft and again a problem that needs redressing
schools and kids should be given free tickets all the time to promote cricket in school
