Anyone else dumb enough to stay up / get up for this again?

We are going to get absolutely mawled again on this one.............
Really can't be arsed with it. Just feels already like de ja vu from 2006, 2013 and 2017.

Even when you wake up to good news like that 220/2 within half an hour it's all pissed down the drain.

Hopefully Root can make a hundred as in 2017 he seemed to have no issue making 50s but couldn't convert. The form he's in I would hope he can do it. But we need way more than that and from what I have seen so far albeit limited the fielding and catching have been shit.

I remember thinking back then seeing Mason Crane come in for what I think was the final test it would be nice if they'd stick with him and let him develop but he seems to have been on the fringes and had one or two injuries. We do need a quality spinner. Even when Lyon isn't taking wickets he usually ties one end down for the quicks.

I know this year has been difficult with everything going on and Jofra's injury but the succession planning or will to try anything new and stick with it seems to be zero.

I might catch a bit in the morning and probably a bit of the Boxing Day test on Xmas night but aside of that repeated failures have really pummelled my will to watch into submission.

A good morning still 340 odd behind even if these two add another 100 to there score we will be still 150 behind and do you reckon the rest of them could get 150? One thing though pitch is flat and weather is perfect for batting!

Stokes Pope and Buttler all need to big runs to get a draw.

Another ball we didn’t have to play because of the length root defending every ball! For a top batsman not picking up a length from a tall bowler.
