Checks weather forecast. Better condition for bowlers tomorrow, if they get near 300 it is a loss 5 points (Hants 21).

1,046 runs at Bristol and Gloucestershire are 443-2 in reply to Surrey’s 603. I reckon it might be a draw…

If Gloucestershire keep producing wickets like this, they won’t lose many home games, but they won’t win many either, which could be problematic if they remain bottom of the league.

Otherwise known as the Taunton tactic.

Maybe they want to create some test batsmen by giving them confidence!

Perhaps, if you mean Australia’s Marcus Harris…

Dent is maybe too old now and Bracey had a torrid time last summer when given a chance. It’ll be interesting to see who actually does make the Test squad. Surrey have got off well but save for Foakes, I’m not sure any of the others should really be called up.

I’ll be happy if Billy Root gets a call up. Not because he’s going to change the shape of English cricket, just so that I can see @ancoats meltdown on this thread.

Whoever they actually pick will be interesting and be partially down to a leap of faith in younger players if they go down that route.

Given that Broad and Anderson are back in the fold, I don’t envisage a leap of faith in that direction. Red ball reset!

Who will be the vice skipper? Given that Stokes is regularly off the field, that may be an important decision. Root?…
