What more does Parkinson have to do? He's taken 23 wickets in 4 games on pitches that aren't spinner friendly which puts him one behind the leading wicket taker. It's actually starting to look personal now. I bet if he played for another county and was all friendly with the right people he'd have been picked.

Certainly agree with that. Parkinsonism could have a long and glorious career if given the chance and supported. I really do think he's a very good bowler and a wicket taking threat.
Didn't Warne go for 170 or summat ridiculous in his first test........even the greatest need some time.
As for the batting, it's hard to know what to say. You think, there's some talent in there with Crawley, Pope and Brooks to support Root but then the all familiar crap display will happen.

Not sure it’ll make much difference as we know there’s as much chance of England playing a spinner as there is of Guardiola starting some youngsters on Sunday.
Five of the top 15 bowlers in the CC1 averages are at Somerset, so the bowling coach (Kirby?) must be happy.

Maybe, but they’ve been a bit hit and miss on the road and at Taunton.

England should not be in this sort of mess at test cricket, the ECB have truly left England in a place of NO re-turn.
First thing I would do is get hold of county cricket and review every player that is available to play for England ?
Then scrap central contracts and make every single player earn their call-up to the test team.

Also, something is majorly wrong in the coaching of fast ballers, we need to bring in the best medical scientist and fitness coaches physical coaches and have the best training academy complex in cricket, We need major investment into county and test cricket ? Bring it back to free view on the BBC or ITV ? Get as much air time as possible and get schools and kids involved for free and bring it back to the public,
