Having a swing and leaving NZ with half an hour before lunch seems fairly reasonable - quick runs or an awkward batting slot.
Need to get into them before the ball gets old.

I think they might have missed their window, only 8 overs in and we've already gone from 4 nasty balls an over to 1 or 2.

If these two survive 20 minutes after lunch the ball will be dead.

I see some analyst quoted on the BBC says there's been huge seam movement but no swing.
Presumably that would disappear as quickly as you suggest.

Fine country. Drove from Auckland down to Wellington in winter of 2017 (i.e. June/July!), left the rented car there, went across the Cook Strait to South Island and hiked most of Abel Tasman trail. Good wine, and good people, by and large. They're not into making a fuss for nothing. Quite different in temperament to the Aussies, in my view.
The Lions rugby tour was on at the time. By God but they take their rugby seriously down there. I shouldn't have been surprised, I suppose.

Their reaction (particularly Williamson as captain) to losing the 2019 World Cup in such unlucky circumstances was a lesson to all sportsmen. Was pleased to see them win than World Test Champions thing last year.

You are correct.On a day 4 pitch which is a decent strip any spinner worth his salt would be using the footholes.This bloke will only get wkts through batsman error.
