Phil Hughes fighting for his life in hospital. Bouncer to the head. Undergoing surgery at the moment to relieve pressure on the brain..apparently still in critical condition. Hopefully all goes well.

Just read about it. How did it happen - did the ball get between the helmet and the visor or was it a weak spot on the helmet?

Hope he's ok - I cannot remember the last time a professional cricketer was hurt so badly in this manner.
looked to be in the neck under the ear area...he needed cpr after collapsing

They didn't really used to try and hook though, they normally just (understandably!) ducked out.

Hope he's ok, horrible injury, there's been a few bad ones recently, I think the helmets need looking at.

Just read about hughes, thoughs with him n his family and hope for a speedy recovery. Shows how dangerous bangs to the head can be, he was stood up one minute then unconscious on the floor the next.

ABC news' tweet was disgraceful aswell

They get this sort of incident a lot more in baseball than cricket, but it does show just how dangerous it is when a ball is travelling at that sort of speed. Hopefully Hughes will recover fully and quickly and get back playing again.

Fantastic knock this from Moeen. Shame about everyone else, but he looks such a classy player at times. Just nonchalantly chipping sixes while everyone else struggles to get it offthe square.
