Once again Pakistan proved to be great visitors and test cricket was really good despite having a very young team. Over the last 10 years pakistan has had a highest success ratio for a visiting side and test cricket is hardly dull when these two sides play.

Its a shame its only 3 test matches, last time they were 2. I feel eng and pak should play 4 match series every 2 to 3 years. Give fans more test cricket to save it. T20 should just be left for tournaments or leagues. Test should be given more space

It's odd that Pakistan has a very respectable record in England, but are so abjectly awful in Australia.

With no cricket at home for nearly 10 years, it greatly effected the quality of players coming through the system. However things are moving forwards now. Sri Lanka played a 2 test series before covid and Bangladesh also came in for a test and 3 t20s. Having a big team like England or Australia tour would go a long way in bringing cricket back home on regular basis.

I had hope that Imran Khan becoming PM might lead to a thawing of relations with India and possibly a bilateral series. But I guess it's just a hopeless pipedream. Not sure I will ever see them play a test series again

To be honest, they'd have won the series had they batted properly on Day 3 at OT.
I honestly believe they thought they had enough when they were 200 and odd ahead with 6 wickets left, but that last session, when they went from 100-4 to about 140-8, cost them. I was really surprised because there was so much time left in the game so they didn't need to force it. That more for me was pivotal, because it meant we only needed 20 odd against the 2nd new ball.
Genuinely great tourists and the way they all went to Crawley, after he was out the other day, was a lesson to a few international sides!
Like you said some top, top youngsters and in Babar Azam they have a truly world-class batsmen.
We need to reciprocate and tour there asap. They trusted our authorities now we need to trust there's.
Thought that was the sporting moment of the summer.

We can't force them to play with us mate if they don't want to. Refusal is from their end

that is the way forward for pakistan cricket board, the need for test cricket at home is now more needed that ever before, because ten years of just playing overseas cricket has made the bowlers and batsman lose their DNA

the art of reverse swing bowlers and leg spinners are gone because of the 10 year ban and that's bad not just for pakistan but cricket all over the world, then you had batsman that could play all the shots all day on flat wickets, front foot, back foot, cut shots, hooks, every thing and score big runs in hot weather

but the thing missing most of all is the crazy fans ? 100.000 wanting to watch all day standing up screaming and shouting the noise was like no other, you won before you bowled a over ? england never stood a chance ? them fans wanting blood from the pakistan players, it was hell on earth for anybody ? the visitors would buckle under the pressure and the umpires also, they knew a bad call and your not getting out of the ground hahahah

i miss watching england play pakistan in pakistan on TV, you knew it would be wall to wall noise and in many cases over very quick for england hahahah

I feel you mate, if you have watched pakistan in the 90s and early 2000s reverse swing and yorkers were trade mark of our bowling attack. Every new fast bowler coming into the system had to have these skills but not anymore. Now, If conditions are offering reverse swing , english bowlers would ball far better than us now, something one wouldnt have imagined in the 90s.

Hopefully cricket will be back soon and you guys can come with barmy army to enjoy it

Wow that Sabina Park pitch looks like ice.

Thought the 1902 picture of Victor Trumper was fascinating. Looks a much more modern scene (1930s perhaps) until you see the backdrop, and then you look at the wicket keeper and slips. What's going on there?

I thought I’d heard that a tour of Pakistan was pencilled in for 2022. Still provisional, of course, but that’ll be 17 years since the last tour, so God willing we’ll see that tour go ahead.

As an aside, not sure if you listen to TMS, but I thought Aatif Nawaz was incredibly good both as a commentator and interviewer.

Yes, in 2022 England are scheduled to tour. Presently both boards are in talks for a 3 match t 20 series in 2021 before the full tour to remove any apprehensions.

I listen to the BBC test match podcast on days when pakistan is doing well :)

England vs Pakistan on BBC (1) TV for the first time in god knows how long. I don't even remember it being on BBC before today.

Starts at 14:15. Fingers crossed the rain stays away this time.

I am finding the BBC coverage to be dire. Too much unnecessary talk.

Disagree. I'm not a fan of the massive pauses they have on the Sky coverage during T20 games which should be non stop 'action'.

If you watch the IPL or BBL it's high energy commentary to match the T20 format.

Not sure who she is but the lady commentator on sky doesn't know her fielding positions. Getting confused with mid on and mid off. Bumble had to subtlety correct her.

Not sure who's on Sky maybe Isa Guha although she's on BBC today as well?

Big chase coming up here. England are one of the best teams for chasing, so game on still.

There has been too much poor bowling from England far too much short and wide stuff making it too easy for Pakistan bat's. But I agree we should be capable of chasing 200 runs.
