Hales probably get the summers first 3 test matches if he still looking shit be sacked off! That's a fair crack of the whip and it'll be his own fault for not cementing his place. For me he doesn't look like a test match player thing is I believe he does too.

You are right about the length of time but is they're anyone good enough to replace him? I don't watch a lot of county cricket so I only really see players once they get a crack with England and I haven't been impressed with anyone else they've tried Carberry, Ballance, Lyth etc.

I think it will be down to who shows form early next season, all the ones we've tried will be in with a shout (Carberry, Ballance, Lyth, Hales, Bell, Robson) plus a couple we havent like Browne and Hilditch.

A defeat is looking very possible in this game, but it will be interesting to see how we go in the fourth innings and what score SA want to set us. They have to try to win this, so they might just dangle a 350 carrot with 4 sessions. Ha ha and there goes a wicket. If we can get them for 300 it will be interesting.

Anyway, I want to talk about KP in the World Cup 20/20. If we don't pick one of the best 20/20 players on the planet in the form he's in and with all of his experience of playing in India and against the opposition we're likely to face then that would be a disgrace. Strauss would come out of it very well if he allows him to be picked. If he says he's not available then Strauss ego wins again, and that is bad for cricket, England, the World Cup as a tournament and fans of cricket.

Dont really understand SA today, what are they doing scoring so slowly, not even going at 3 an over in this innings, I thought they would have pushed on today, got the lead up to 350-370 as quickly as they could and got us in if they want to win this test, the result is far more important to them than us and I'd think they would need more than 4 sessions to ensure victory with our long batting line up.

As for KP mate, give it up, its not going to happen, I think you are right, he should be going to the world cup, but he wont, Strauss has made it a point of principal. If KP had agreed to work with the T20 team when it was offered last year then it would be a maybe but as he refused that very weak olive branch that was the end of the end.

It's bizarre, I can only think they're terrified of Stokes going off on one again and want 400 up. If this storm hits then England might not have to bat till tomorrow unless they declare sharpish.

Whilst you should try not to bring the weather into thinking too much, it has to be considered, its already starting to get gloomy. Not sure if Abbott is fully fit, so they are a bowler down means more overs for Duminy and Elgar, so you'd think they'd need even more time to bowl us out and Rabada looked shattered after our first innings. Strange, no change of pace at all in their scoring at all.

Bizarre afternoon of batting by South Africa. Can only imagine the slaughtering Cook would get if England had meandered along all afternoon like this.
