If that's the case then it's stupid from him as England are in this bubble that then can't have interactions with family or friends while this series is going on. Also why didn't anyone from the England management team stop him?

Did they not notice a player was missing?
If they're supposed to be in a bubble why weren't they all travelling up from Southampton together by plane or coach?

That's the bit I don't get, a 16/17 man squad plus back room staff all travelling that distance individually is madness but listening to TMS it seems that is the case.

Again based on players not selected I've come up with this (openers was a struggle so gone for quick runs!)

Chris Gayle
Herschelle Gibbs
Rahul Dravid
Mahela Jayawardene
Javed Miandad
Richard Hadlee
Jeffrey Dijon
Shaun Pollock
Andy Roberts
Abdul Qadir
Allan Donald

What is it about people, these days?
You give them one simple instruction, and they're either
a) too thick to comprehend
or
b) deliberately obtuse.

Tosser. You're representing England.
Who the fuck does he think he is, Dominic Cummings? I’d imagine there will be a raft of government ministers lining up to defend him on this, or possibly not...
Joking aside, it seems they all drove from Southampton and he called at his house in Brighton for an hour before driving to Manchester. It doesn’t really seem like the crime of the century, to be honest.

I know there’s always the argument that you should never change a winning side but big Rakheem would have been very dangerous on this surface.

England had a mix up running just now where after they had stopped, the umpire signalled it a dead ball as Sibley hadn’t offered a shot.

Would Root have been run out if he hadn’t made his ground or would it still have been a dead ball?

Anybody else on here used to go out to Buxton and that lovely cricket ground to watch Sunday matches? I have very fond memories in my youth of going hiking with my then girlfriend, with a few sandwiches and an apple packed, in the hills around Buxton.

I like Isa Guha, the cricket reporter for the BBC

Just giving this a bump cos Isa is on commentary
