I'd be more than happy for Root and Foakes to just block everything that needs blocking, and leave everything that needs leaving, for three or four overs, conceding maidens. Maybe taking the odd one or couple here and there. Just checking out how the ball's behaving. Batsmen often come out in the morning slightly less concentrated from the night before, I've noticed. They need to get into the groove.

Just watching Jamieson being interviewed. Christ, he's a big unit. Unless Mel Jones is seriously short!
He obviously ate his greens when he was growing up!6' 8" apparently. I think that definitely falls into the 'big unit' range.
