Sure. Clicked on the thread while at work and saw your suggestion that the only possible explanation for Renan not bowling was as a punishment.

Thought it was nonsense. Surely there were more plausible reasons ... such as how expensive he was in the first innings ... until the ball got older.

Next thing I heard he had taken 3 wickets and couldn't resist sorry!
Did you notice that he has lost the swagger he was posturing with in his short innings yesterday?

If you had been watching the game when he was batting you would have seen the reason. And I wasn't slagging off his ability only his attitude. My original post was speculating that Stokes didn't bring him on until late to make a point. Or do you have a better reason to explain why he played Leach as the only spinner all morning?
I think he wanted the ball to be more scuffed for a leggie.

Can't believe they didn't get the job done today. Pretty poor that.

The way we're chasing scores down is absurd. That score, 12 months ago, would have us all shitting it. We'd defend our way to 10-3 from 10 overs and then maybe Root would take us close before we ultimately lost by a fair few. Now we cream it about as if it's a T20 game and then throw on our leg spinner to go and slog it for a bit of fun! 112-2 from 17 overs. Easy stuff.

I hope to god we keep the young lad in the team because he could be special, we have the ashes in the summer and swing will be the option for all 5 test, leach will be picked as the spinner if we need one, but Ahmed could be also picked if we play pope as the wicket keeper batsman,

Who'd have thought it. The theory behind Rehan not bowling for the first 4 hours was because they were waiting till the effects of the heavy roller eased and the pitch began to break up a bit..... only day 3 remember.

Clip also contains a timely reminder of how Shane Warne believed young leggies need to be handled.

I still think we’ll get hammered in the ashes.
Maybe. Australia are the best test team in the world at the moment IMO, but I can't wait for this Ashes series. It'll be high octane stuff and neither team will take a backward step. We may well get twatted but they might get twatted instead, and it really could be any score. Personally, I think the series score will be close but there could be some very convincing test wins for both sides.
