He'd bowled well at the death in all the previous games, so it looked the obvious call for him to bowl the last over and he always seemed like the type to fancy the big occasion, but he completely bottled that.
Hats off to the Windies though, probably the only team where lots of different players won them games rather than leaning on the same players each time.

Fair fucks to the Windies, they deserve it for firstly chasing down India on their own patch and then doing that today which despite some poor bowling, still needs to be done.

Anyone organising a whip-round to send Stokes on a nice holiday to get this out of his system? A couple of weeks in Syria sounds appropriate.
Bowling the last over in a World Cup is hard, very very hard. The nerves he would have had would have been something us folk will never experience in our lives, for that reason I forgive him. Overall we did well to get to the final, not many anticipated us getting this far and yeah it would've been nice to win the thing but it was still a great tournament for us. Congratulations to the Windies, won it the only way they know how, hit loads of sixes lol.

20/20 is the future of cricket, it's the format that gets the most viewers and by far the most exciting. In a few years time there's probably going to be less "proper cricket" played I think.
