What are your thoughts on Balderson batting at 4? I don't like the idea of him bowling 20 overs and then getting his pads on right away. Surely he should be battling at 6, and having a shower and a bit of rest before getting ready to bat.
I think the big issue is signing Bruce and his form being so poor. Coming in as an overseas batsman he probably wants to play at 5 and the others have no experience.

Little choice, it is either him or Bell with Vilas and Croft gone.

I'd send Bruce and Bell in at 4 and 5, Balderson is a real talent and I hate to see so much being asked of him so soon.

He opened the bowling the other day, then batted 4, it's like schoolboy cricket where you have 1 player mile's better than the rest.

Tom Hartley has 62 first class wickets. He should be nowhere near the test side, but it shows how bare we are for spinners.

Williams and Bailey are decent enough line and length bowlers, but don’t consistently win games.

3-4 games left of Lyon.

They’ve not had much to bowl with, but they’re not ripping through teams either.
There's absolutely no pace in the current bowling line up. Maybe Saqib Mahmood will make a difference, and the lad who they signed in the summer Stanley, if they can get him fit. He's meant to be quick.

It is more about the venue than the team these days. Losing a good player every season, assuming other clubs pay them better to move 100+ miles from the region they always lived.

Rob Jones was the latest one weakening the batting, and with 8 points for a draw losing is now really damaging. Therefore batting is more important and we have gone backwards.
