Salt is absolute fucking bobbins. I was told a few days he is the second best international t20 player, not sure that was determined but it’s no longer valid. Buttler not currently up to the job either,heads completely gone

Yeah I'd agree. I think we're the best on our side of the Super 8s, but I'd have South Africa, India and the Windies ahead of us. Like you say T20 is unpredictable, Windies looked in trouble against us before some huge hitting down the order. South Africa had their scare against Afghanistan. So it's wide open still. If Buttler can find some form, which based on historic slumps is unlikely sadly, it does make us a much bigger threat.

I said it and he's 2nd in the ICC T20I batting world rankings so it's backed by his stats. He got a quick fire 50 odd against India last year, 141 off 60 balls against South Africa and scores of 80 odd against Ireland and NZ which helped.

He's been poor in this tournament undoubtedly. Probably doesn't help that Buttler has been absolutely miles off it so he's probably looking to score even quicker than usual to take the pressure off. Buttler has these spells and I would be staggered if he manages to shake it off this tournament and it's very likely to cost us any chance of winning it.
 
I still feel like there are far too many dot balls when England bat. We try and hit everything to the ropes. If it's a good ball find the gap and rotate the strike. Brook and Bethell have faced 36 balls and 19 have been dots so they've essentially scored 45 runs off 17. Rotate the strike more guys!

They were saying on the radio the other day that New Zealand have the perfect squad for playing in Sri Lanka whatever that means. I think it was something to do with their plethora of decent spinners.

They really subdued Sri Lanka in their chase earlier in the week. Not an easy team to play.
 
I don’t think you can read too much into today’s game. It's a crap slow pitch - rubbish for 20/20’s and doesn’t suit Englands team. The Indian pitches will suit us much more. But surely they’ve got to do something with Butler. We need him as a keeper but drop him down. We have plenty of opening options - including Ahmed
